Derek Adams nominated for manager of the month for December......now that's the kind of publicity we can do without at the moment.....drawing attention to his good work with PAFC.
Think the Bristol results have done one better than us so doubt he will get it Plym. Lets be fair, it doesn't need publicity for people to know what's going on in the league and who is hot and who is not. Same applies to the players. Managers know because there are plenty of watchers who see what's happening and can tell them.
It is unsettling to think that at least 68 of the 92 English league clubs could mount a bid for our manager and players. One quick way to improve those odds is to get promoted and at least we can comfort ourselves that at last we have people worth nicking!
Not very positive there notdistant. You obviously think nobody in the Prem would want him. I think there are a few looking over their shoulder at our Del. In all seriousness I don't think he has been in England long enough to make a name yet. There will be those noting what is going on here but not enough just yet to take a punt. Hope he will do it with us and become a legend eventually. I do think we have always had a couple of players others might want. A couple of the star attractions in this team are loanees so we don't have any say anyway. I think that Carey is the obvious star attraction but McHugh is also one others will note for his importance in his new role. For me he is the one player I would absolutely hate to lose. Nelson has had a good season. I discount Luke altogether because I do not think he will leave here unless we want him to. Too much bagage and he is safe here with fans who don't give him stick anymore and accept him.
I suspect he will be on the radar of a few as Scottish Mangers in England tend to do quite well.. Hope fully he can stay until we reach the championship in a few years time..
My calculation was a total of 92 clubs including the Premier League minus 24 in League 2 on the basis that not player or manager would move just to swap over to another League 2 club. Maybe even that's wrong if the right wages are offered!
I would say you aren't far off there notdistant. There are a few clubs in league two who might offer, or be in a financial position to offer, more than we can. Trouble is I still think Brent believes he can do some things on the cheap and tries hard not to pay anyone more than he can get away with. I believe Exeter have one of the highest paid managers in this league which is hard to fathom I know. Maybe Portsmouth, Oxford and one or two more could or would but that's about it. I do think that Adams, apart from some disaster taking place or fall out with the Board, would want to see this season through where he is. Next season, having achieved a promotion if that does happen, he will be in a much stronger position to bargain. He is young and therefore has plenty of time on his side. Personally I think if he is backed sufficiently he is happy here anyway and might want to do a job of getting Argyle back to it's former glory. They all want to be a legend don't they.
