Another hard postion to pick was Steve Yates a left back?

 

no. he was a CB

 

Tough one this, I don't think we've ever had a stand-out left back in my time following the Rovers (since 1992)

But, I would go with Andy Gurney, purely because he was part of that great team of '95 that went all the way to Wembley. Second choice would be Matt Lockwood. Had a great cross on him. We should never have let him leave

There must be better options from further back in time, though

 

Vaughan Jones

 

recently for me was daniel jones on loan from wolves.

but im undecided on vaughan jones and paul hardyman. i need to think about this one.

I rated Matt Lockwood, and also Craig Armstrong whom we had on loan @ Twerton.
Trevor Challis and Lee Maddison too.
Difficult though to see beyond Vaughan Jones.

Forgot about Armstrong, he was excellent I thought

 

Vaughan Jones for me every day of the week. A superb captain a battler and comitted to the cause. With 381 appearances for The Gas he was an absolute stalwart.

 

Cjs when you do CB's will we have to pick two straight off or just one

 

you wull have to wait and find out next week

 

Think Vaughn Jones gets my vote ... tryin to think back to the 70's but the grey matter aint working ... so VJ for me!

 

Peter Aitken was left back pretty much through the whole of the 70's. Think he's still working at the club as Community Officer.
