Into our last 3 positions in our favourite ever Bristol city team, With the 2 central misfiled positions took, and obviously GOW came out winner with 14 votes, and brian tinnion came 2nd with 12 votes. Marv 3rd :) with 2 votes which just shows how 1 sided it was.

Anyway we are on to the left side of midfield now so lets get voting

    The team so far

    ------------------------Gibson---------------------------
    Sweeny--------Merrick--------Collier--------------Bell
    Murray---------Gow-----------Tinnion----------------LM

Tough call. Probably Alan Walsh but also like Aaron Brown and Michael McIndoe in recent years

This is the one I've been dreading to make a choice..

Roger 'LOU' Peters,an absolute gem, tryer and gentleman of a player,Gerry Sharpe, fantastic and exciting,a joy to watch until we all heard his leg snap,Alan Skirton was a big, bold goal-scoring winger we signed from Blackpool,Alan Walsh, the buried treasure of Ashton Gate, signed from Darlington for £18k,it was said that Terry Cooper had signed a "Rolls Royce for a pocketful of loose change",Walshie was brilliant with free kicks as well,Micheal McIndoe,a gobby get but he had skill,Jimmy Mann,a class act of Prem proportions...

Not trying to throw names, just demonstrating my dilemma,I'll be back.I need more time....

Yep same here wiz. Being only young I haven't seen many good left midfielders. McIndoe the only one that sticks out for me

Mark Gavin for me, he only played here for couple of season but him on the left and 'Smudger' on the right was for me the most exciting wing play I've seen at Ashton Gate. They were so different, Gavin could beat a player on a sixpence whereas 'Smudger' relied on amazing pace.

I thought Dave Smith was left wing? But the prize has to go to Alan Walsh

Smithy on the left, Gavin on the right 2 totally different styles of wing play with great crosses for Super Bob and Robbie Turner, great to watch, happy days.

It has to be Alan Walsh for me, great passer, free kick specialist, and a goalscorer.

Alan Walsh. played at the wrong time for city as he did well also after leaving suggesting he could have played at a higher level here if the team was up to it. goals every season from the wing in poor teams!! he also comes across as a really nice bloke in person when amongst fans in pubs etc.

Haven't really had a good left Mid for years now. But I'll go with Mcindoe, but only the mcindoe in his first season

    Alan Walsh.

I do not think any player since the seventies has had that level of ability to hit the ball so cleanly, and score so regularly from outside the box.
