Well, some of the mags are saying nolan wont be a loss. Well, i have some news for them. Nolan missed 8 games for newc a##ehole last season and minus nolan they never managed to win one of those games.
That's because at the time of most of the games he missed we had a pack load of injuries anyway, so left our squad even thinner and we had to rely on players who otherwise wouldn't be anywhere near the first xi one of those games was also man u, in which guthrie played admirably in his place. we're not worried. don't worry. it was just a shock that we were losing our captain, that's all.
I think he will be a miss, and I am sure most will agree with me. Massive figure in the dressing room and mackem murderer, what more could you want. However, I would be more upset if he was going to another PL team. He isn't, he is going to the Championship, don't have to worry about him for another year at least.
You've got that Cabaye who plays CM (I think?!), do you guys see him as a ready made replacement? I don't know what his playing style is like. Although he'd better not score as many against us!
Its a tough one as deep down most of us know nothing about him. He has just won the double in France, and most reports have said he was a very key figure. His goals record doesn't compare to Nolan though, and I think Ben Arfa could be the man to take the goals tally in Nolan's place. However I do wish that we had signed someone before we sold Nolan.
I think they are papering over the cracks. Nolan was captain, key man and top scorer he will be a huge miss no matter who they bring in (see bartons twitter) at this stage I think they are being very foolish selling Nolan and p*ssing Barton off and not offering him a new contract. Barton and Nolan were the heqrtbeat of that team and they will be sadly lacking without them. Enrique, collocini, barton, jonas, nolqn, carroll. All key men for them, none of which might be there next season. Id be asking some serious questioned. I think they are gambling that every cheapish deal works out as well as Tiote but it just doesn't happen.
To be fair, N'Zogbia seems close to a return, Barnetta is another one but I think it may be one or the other. Demba Ba is also close. They are good players we are bringing in, but the thing that made it for us and I agree with you, Nolan and Barton were the heartbeat and made everyone feel welcome. Who is going to do that now?
Yeah I'm dreading Ben Arfa fully fit as he looks class, I think he'll do well. He'll score you goals! Hopefully our Sess will score more though..
And if you guys get Barnetta I'll be thoroughly shocked, he deserves European football at the very least! (no offence intended, we wouldn't have a chance in hell)
Had Ben Arfa not got injured, I think we would have finished higher. I worry that his mentality will be ****ed, his confidence will have taken a huge battering, I just hope he has received the right attention and help in order to regain some mental stability on the football pitch. Sess started off slow, but got into it very well and was a very key figure, he will be a star for you next year but you need to hold on to Gyan.
I'm confused by the Nzogbia returning to Newcastle story. Wouldn't he command pretty high wages 40k+ and doesn't it look like Ashley is setting a precedent by capping it at far less than that on new deals e.g Barton not being offered a new deal and offloading Nolan? I hope you don't get Nzogbia as I think he's class, same with Demba Ba (I think we shot ourselves in the foot with that one)

The way Cabaye was talking, N'Zogbia still loves the place, and if reports on twitter are to be believed, he is quite close. Wages is a struggle, Barton would have been on 60k a week, It seems Ashley has raised the bar to 50k but that seems to be reserved for the 'special' kind. Only Ashley knows that. N'Zog's attitude pissed me off, but he is better than what we have so it would be a great addition. Demba Ba is another weird one, again better than what we have, but will he pass a medical? No transfer fee involved as well which helps if he does pass it though.
I don't think Nolan has scored many goals since Carroll left, so I don't really mind us selling him on, I think Cabaye is a better overall player. The biggest thing about selling him though imo, is how other players will react, will have to see who steps up to the plate to lead the team. How do you lot put up with master-simpson's **** anyway, he just seems like a more ****ish/ abusive Tash, with less good posts.

Interesting not gonna miss a double figures goal contribution.... not sure I agree with that! Without bent we were gonna be relegated according to some mags... what will happen to them without Carrol and Nolan, will be interesting what they get replaced with.
