Redknapp said: "We want a couple of loans - if we can find them. We're not close, though, on anyone." He has ruled out releasing midfielder Leroy Fer and wingers Junior Hoilett and Matt Phillips. Redknapp added: "I would rather Junior and Matty stay here. Les Ferdinand [head of football operations] said there has been some interest in Junior from a German club. But we're not overloaded with players and we're looking to strengthen not weaken." On attempts to sign Sako, he said: "We made an enquiry and that's as far as it went. Les spoke to the people there - it's not gone any further." He also has ruled out moves for Blackburn striker Rudy Gestede, Rubin Kazan midfielder Yann M'Vila, Tottenham front man Emmanuel Adebayor and striker Dani Osvaldo, currently on loan at Inter Milan from Southampton. "You can sit and talk about players all day, but you need to get them over the line. We're nowhere near yet."
Until 23:00 on Monday, it's all posturing and brinkmanship. I will be surprised if no one else comes but, were that to happen, it would certainly be a downer on future plans and, perhaps, add further weight to the call for Harry to go.
I think the thread title says it all, no-one in their right mind would join us so prepare for Adebayour at the last minute...
Palace have just signed a left back I have never heard of from lille...am I worried...yes...why ...I don't know. Just feel .it is all getting away from us..why.I don't know... Anyone else feel the same? Why?
I've felt the same way for the past couple of weeks. Harry originally said we needed to get players in early in the window, we signed Zarate who had 14 mins at Burnley and the young Irish lad Manning, who he won't play. All our rivals are making good signings and looking stronger whilst we sell a young player after just six months to one of our rivals and appear to be waiting for more to go. I have a horrible feeling Harry may use a defeat at Stoke tomorrow as a last effort to wring a signing or two out of TF on D-Day, that's Desperation Day when Tony will have his pants pulled down for the umpteenth time...
Nobody wants to come over? Or nobody is talking apart from the hoards of chancers and agents planting silly stories about how we're in for this player or that? We don't know the real story, and neither does Harry! Lets wait and see...
Bit concerned that having let Mutch go we haven't brought someone straight in plus also losing out on possible targets i.e. Sinclair, Salah with lennon in talks with Hull at this rate we're going to be in for some last minute desperate signings like last year (Maiga, Dellatori, Keane etc)
