That was my big take out from yesterday. Not once did I hear one of our players shout to his fellow team mates, let alone act like a captain. Everyone seemed to look to each other for inspiration insteat of roll their sleeves up. We clearly need players with more steel and if we were to look to a transfer market other than our own then I'd suggest it should be Germany rather than France or Holland.
McClaren's leadership and inspiration I feel is the head of this problem, though it could be argued that Ashley took all the leaders out of the team, and left them with just sheep. And sheep don't lead.
If we sign players from France then we are down. We need proven quality, not ****ing prospects. The fans can see it, neutrals can see it yet why can't those useless tossers at the top not see it? We need a Kevin Nolan type personality who will lay in to people during games and provide the fire necessary to lift them. We also need a manager who will inspire awe and fear into the players. We have some good players, but we also have some absolute ****e dragging them down.
