I feel slightly uneasy at having been ever-so-helpful to gioblues - by suggesting he might want to go to the Spurs game on the Official coaches............ especially as at the last two away games there have been people at pick up points, who the Club have failed to include on the passenger list --- and also 2 fans waiting to go to Scunthorpe - left behind, because the Club told them the wrong times. Yesterday, in my car, I was listening to Radio Kent ( for any transfer deadline news). During the broadcast, there was an 'advert' for the radio station - in which they declared that they would be bringing me full match commentary of this weekend's game at Shrewsbury !!
Always, I don't know if I'm being whooshed here, feeling a bit under the weather today and so having trouble seeing the wind up in your post. The OS shows the match as 14.15. The BBC shows the match at 14.15. Sky show the match as 14.15. Where does the 12.15 time come from?
grumpygit - sorry to hear you're not well - hope you recover soon. By the way - what do you mean by 12.15 ? OK - I made an almighty cock up. I can't be right always. ...thankfully I haven't missed the coach -- yet ( although I wished I had missed it for the Scunthorpe trip ). I have deleted the offending line from my post - but Radio Kent still got it wrong !
I thought there was some hidden meaning in the time at first, then I panicked and thought I'd messed up and would pass everyone going home, still all sorted now. As for not being well it's just one of my off days, I'll be there Sunday even if the boy has to carry me.
The monkey's still in charge Yet again ( 3rd time already this season ), a Gills fan turned up at the Stadium pick up point for the Port Vale game - to the 'surprise' of Peter Lloyd - because the chap wasn't on the passenger list.............. I say 'surprise' of PL - but - really no surprise. However PL was genuinely surprised after the game. On the journey home, PL was taking bookings for forth coming away games - including Chesterfield on 27th. As usual Peter Lloyd gave information regarding pick up times. PL stated that the coach(es) would leave from Gillingham at 1 pm. One of the passengers then showed PL the Official website page which gives the pick up time as 3 pm ( It should have read 1300 hrs )
When I got on the coach yesterday PL was surprised to see me,as the club had booked me on for Gillingham and not Sittingbourne.A friend was told the pick up time was 8:30 from Rainham when it was 8.00,and another friend was not even on the list.
More monkey business ? Oh dear - I wonder what chaos will reign on Wednesday .! There are 8 coaches going to Tottenham. Only one will start from Sittingbourne,. Only 4 coaches will start from Gillingham.............. So, if the Club have messed up the pick up points for passengers, there may be an almost empty coach at Sittingbourne and nearly 400 fans trying to get on 4 coaches at the Stadium. ............................ of course, the above scenario could be compounded if the Club has again ( repeatedly ), told any fans the wrong pick up time ! The pick up times, on the Official site, for the Chesterfield game, is still shown incorrectly as 2 hours after the coaches will have gone. ........................... Maybe it was the Club who told our regular driver, Ian, what time to meet the 'relief' driver on Saturday ! At a pick up point we had to change drivers ( all to do with driving hours regulations, and not having to pay 2 drivers for the entire journey to Port Vale ). We waited for 30 minutes for Ian to turn up. He had been told the wrong start time by Kings Ferry....................... that bloody monkey's been moon-lighting ! https://www.google.co.uk/imgres?img...ZrPAhWpD8AKHV4DDpEQMwguKBAwEA&iact=mrc&uact=8 NO - that isn't me !
With no coach numbers issued and having read the above, I decided to check/confirm on the O/S the pickup time at the Coach & Horses, imagine my surprise when all I could find was a news item telling me that all travel for Tottenham is sold out, all mention of pickup times appears to have vanished. GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
