The club were basically trying to fool people in to buying Season Tickets. It's either McClaren or Carver, or both. Same old **** different season. They can **** off. We have a championship side and probably a championship manager next season.

Carver gets the job I am done and I suspect it will be the same for thousands of others.
McClaren - He will have grudging support but the first bad run we have, the protests will start.

    No longer in contention...............why not?
God how l wish the club would wise up and communicate with the supporters.
Even if we did not agree with their logic or decisions, it would be sooooooo much better if we just understood WHY, now and again .
If they think this smoke and mirrors sh1t is going to have flocks queuing up to renew season tickets, then I hope with all my heart and soul that those even remotely considering parting with their hard earned cash....DONT GET FOOLED AGAIN, PLEASE,

I'm not buying a season ticket regardless of who is in charge. I'm just totally pissed off with this farce of a club.

The reality is that neither party had at any point spoken to each other. Just media speculation.

    Vieira was never in contention.

Club all along had only one thing in mind. Carr's pal McClaren in with Carver as his assistant. Both a pair of losers. Not even Championship clubs wanted McClaren.

Just shows the lack of bottle or ambition by the fat bloke. As soon as a bloke wants a say in transfers he runs a mile. It's going to be Maclaren. The blokes done nowt for years. God help us.

    remember this ( 20th Jan 2015)

    http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-md-lee-charnley-8484848

Newcastle United MD Lee Charnley: On the head coach search, January transfers and the future

Charnley says the club will communicate differently in the future - and the new head coach won't be a 'yes man'

We’ve had about 80 applications of people interested in the role. That’s people within football.
It’s not a case of someone getting the job because he’s a friend of a friend or he knows someone.

do I want someone in who will continually try to change our strategy or put obstacles in our way? Clearly not. They will have to aligned with what we are doing

too much bullshit to list all from Charnley and Fatso
    how many more lies

Viera will no doubt go on to be a top-class Manager now that Ashley & co have scared him off from Tyneside.

I'm not disturbed by the prospect of Steve MacClaren coming in - he's better than Carver and better than Pardew in my opinion - but if whoever comes in is not given the backing to re-vamp this squad, then it will make no difference who is sat in the dug-out.

    Sam Allardyce anyone? <doh>

Remember the club is being run by football geniuses. Our owner bought a player that looked good on youtube, whilst allowing a man to run the club who told modric he wasnt good enough..... Nothing here will change.

I would also have no problem with McLaren and actually think the role might suit him as I think he is more of a player coach than a club manager. Doesn't bother me that he didn't come when we were struggling. I hope this was because he was under contract at Derby at the time and felt some loyalty to them as well as being realistic about the fact that he wouldn't change things round in a matter of days. It does worry me that now being free he is more likely to accept the job on Ashley's terms rather than his own terms. Part of our problem is that we want our managers/head coaches to have the team (and therefore supporters) interests at heart rather than the club whereas Ashley is more likely to want someone who won't rock the boat.
