Well that stupid red card has left us with no Taarabt for the Chelsea game, but I can't help think that it may be a good thing, Taarabt is our creative player, but I think we need to be defensive against Chelsea - something I feel Taarabt isn't the best at. So this would force MH to play Traore, who is fast, defensive and still has enough creativity. Plus Taarabt will be rested for a more 'winnable' game against Stoke. Anyone else thinking the same?
Think he will start with SWP, Traore seems a bit off form and his fitness is not the best, keep him on the bench ub till about 70 mins. Question is will it be 451 or the "442" ?? I think -5 in middle to accomadate samba+derry+barton, but I would love to see a place in the starting 11 for Cisse if anyone will get a goal it will be "him". So MH will you stick or twist?
22/04/2012 by David McIntyre QPR boss Mark Hughes insists Adel Taarabt’s absence will not affect his team’s chances of causing an upset in this weekend’s west London derby. The Moroccan’s sending-off against Tottenham means he is suspended for Sunday’s vital game at Stamford Bridge, where the stakes will be high for both sides. Chelsea are chasing a top-four finish, while Rangers know one win from their remaining three matches could be enough to keep them in the Premier League. Taarabt will miss Sunday’s vital derby.Taarabt has been instrumental in taking the R’s close to safety, scoring in their victories against Spurs and Arsenal. His ban is an untimely blow but Hughes has the option of recalling striker Djibril Cisse, who recently served a suspension. “It’s a bit of a loss, obviously, but we can cope. We’ve got good players to come in,” said Hughes. “Djibril didn’t play in the game against Tottenham and he’s an option for me. We’ll be okay.” Taarabt’s dismissal came after he petulantly kicked the ball away and was shown a second yellow card. It belied the fact that the 22-year-old, whose temperament has often been questioned, has shown greater maturity in recent months. Hughes added: “There’s been a marked difference and that’s a credit to him. He’s embraced what we’ve told him and looks a better player for it. “He’s still a young player and I just sense that he’s maturing. His understanding of the game and what’s required is getting much better.” Advertising on West London Sport Btw, did anyone else hear that Shaun Derry didn't even know Taarabt had been sent off until after the match?
Really??? I don't see this suspension as a bad thing. It's common knowledge that Adel performs best at HQ with the Rangers Boys behind him. Longer restitution and with an axe to grind will only be to our benefit. I can't wait to get to the Stoke game with my Adel shirt, what a game that could be now.
Good morning Norway, Derry said that he was so in the zone that he didn't even notice Adel's sending off. How bizarre is that? I didn't realise until the last second either because my wife was sending us pictures of me and my daughters on the telly. I was so busy showing them that when I looked up Adel was walking off. No one around me knew what for at the time either.
Re Derry that is a admireable feat, we had this attitude against Chelsea under Warnock but I feel Hughes has fine tuned that determination to perfection. Have to watch the game over again to see if I can spot you and your girls. I was close to death during the last ten-fifteen minutes and hasn't beared to watch it again, even in re-run don't know if I can take it You, calm as ever, confident of victory, I admire that in you. But as we all know it's easyer to take it when you're at the ground. How highly did you rate that win? Liverpool, Arsenal like?
I doubt if I'll see anything Liverpool like for quite a while, i've never felt like that at a game of football in my life. My heart felt like it was about to explode. It was more like the Arsenal win for me. When your actually at the game you can see on the oppositions faces whether they are up for it or not. You could see that VdV wasn't enjoying it. He hated coming over to take corners ( That's where we were sitting, front row. One of my daughters has an orange pac a mac on, the other has glasses and a blue cap. ) Gareth Bale looked quite stressed and you could see that Spurs were struggling in ' Le Cauldron of Hate. ' They were not used to this kind of intense atmosphere. So all in all, I was fairly relaxed. Although they never really created too much, you worry that they have the players to create something from nothing out of the blue. We are definitely getting stronger and stronger. When you think about it, we have quite a fresh side compared to the others.
Taarbs away form is poor so this isn't necessarily a bad thing. He needs to be raring go against Stoke and really rip into them.
No Taarabt's never a good thing... there's always the hope he'll do something crazy and score goals. Team's got to be able to cope with absences though. In this case Cisse's a bit of a catalyst himself, so still interesting.
I think its a blessing in disguise as was the Derry red card. Tarbs has played quite well at home and he will be ready for Stoke. BTW, i was sitting in a bar watching the game with a Tarbs & QPR fan, and we both said we would have replaced Tarbs or Mackie with Cisse for the last 20 or so, just before he got sent off. Not because he was playing badly but they seemed to need another type of threat and Cisse could have (maybe) providied that. Having said that, i thought Mackie and Tarbs both had good games.
Maybe his dad could come along and use his incredible knowledge, experience and insight to give the lads a team talk.
It was fantastic to be at the game Saturday! The relief and celebration at the end was enormous! I was hoping MH was going to bring in Cisse for Zamora -as I felt BZ was holding well but not doing much more, and thought we needed to keep the defensive work Mackie and Adel (!!!) were putting in. Cisse's speed could have given Spurs a bit more to think about at the back and may have taken some of rhe pressure off our defense. I read MH mentions Cisse for Chelsea and although I'd love it myself I think MH is way too defensive too start him anywhere except as the lone striker instead of BZ. Hope he proves me wrong! I am sure we will miss Adel against Chelsea, he's about the best player we have.
Adel can be a matchwinner as we saw on Saturday - and he can be a liability. The goal scored in open play at Old Trafford resulted from reckless defensive play by Adel. I don't think he's so good away from home so may be there's a point about not missing him too much on Sunday - I'm trying to look on the bright side anyway
4-0 - Cisse 2, Diakite 1 and the last will bounce in off SWP's arse. (what the hell while I'm at it - mackie to assist on them all) If the FA/Incompetant refs have anything to do with it we probably end up 9 left on and Hill playing rush goalie. But we'll still ****'em. Come on you R'ss
