It's at times like this when a depressingly familiar scenario starts to unfold that I turn to music to cheer myself up. This I believe sums the situation up - top marks to those who know the band:

    Money, get away
Get a good job with more pay
    And your O.K.

    Money, it's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands
    And make a stash

New car, caviar, four star daydream
Think I'll buy me a football team

    Money get back
    I'm all right Jack
Keep your hands off my stack

    Money, it's a hit
    Don't give me that
    Do goody good bullshit

    I'm in the hi-fidelity
    First class traveling set
And I think I need a Lear jet

    (Sax and guitar solos)

    Money, it's a crime
    Share it fairly
But don't take a slice of my pie

    Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil
    Today

But if you ask for a rise
    It's no surprise that they're
    Giving none away
    Away
    Away
    Away
    Away...

"Hu Huh! I was in the right!"
    "Yes, absolutely in the right!"
"I certainly was in the right!"
"You was definitely in the right. That geezer was cruising for a bruising!"
    "Yeah!"
    "Why does anyone do anything?"
"I don't know, I was really drunk at the time!"
"I was just telling him, he couldn't get into number 2. He was asking
Why he wasn't coming up on freely, after I was yelling and
Screaming and telling him why he wasn't coming up on freely.
It came as a heavy blow, but we sorted the matter out"

I don't have a problem with Beccio going as I think he has more than served us well and deserves his chance if premier league is offered to him - good luck I say. What is disturbing is the fact that according to Alan Tate it was about the lack of cash why he didn't stay and the obvios lack of any decent signings. One week to prove us wrong but I'm not holding my breath.

    Welcome Norman,

Tate was not good enough. 275k had already been agreed, but Warnock backed out as Pearce was better then Tate...

I'm not worried that we didn't get Tate, in fact glad he didn't but it's comments made by him about Financial situation. Might be sour grapes but no smoke without fire combined with not able to match Beccio's requirements. All a bit worrying.

i'D LOVE TO SEE THE TRANSFER REQUEST. I wonder whether it mentions broken promises and lack of intentions

275k isn't (or at least shouldn't be) a huge amount. The fact he had to cancel the transfer in order to pursue other targets tells me we're operating on a VERY limited budget...

We were linked today with Warnock (once an England player). You'd still image he'd be 500k plus....

Maybe Tate is just **** stirring and because of what's happened with Becchio we're all overreacting. That would be a nice and welcome surprise...sadly I don't think it's true.

He was alright. Nothing particularly special. But why not sign him (or another defender), to add cover to centre half AND sign the forward players he wanted? He had to choose between forwards or defenders, and that's what tells me he has a limited budget.
