Taylor failed to even respond to the improved contract offer made by ESI, and the club are now planning accordingly.

    - SLP today.

Taylor has acted in a characteristically arrogant manner, IMO.

It has been very obvious to me for a while. Taylor doesn't want to be here, you can tell by his body language. Ship him out and get someone in who does want to play for us.

But not the boy Grandoulet (sic) from Blackpool. We need much more proven Championship quality up front. That signing would be a massive punt.

I predicted a while ago that January would turn into the Lyle Taylor Show.

We need goals, we’re not exactly in a position to get rid of forwards at the moment. I’ll be curious to see who they intend to bring in, strikers are always expensive.

What would Sir Alex Ferguson have done? I think we all know.

Show him the door , not sure where he’ll end up carrying an injury or if other clubs will even gamble on him with an injury

Sir Alex says what he would have done in his autobiography. Never keep a disruptive player, or one that doesn’t want to be here.

Someone has pointed out that Taylor has played 13 games at Championship level in his career. He ain’t Harry Kane.

but HE thinks he's Premiership quality... depends how much money the new owner wants to write off on selling Taylor... if new owner isn't bothered then keep Taylor until the summer. We were always in trouble after Taylor Tweeted how wonderful his Agents were in the summer.... I think Rangers and Taylor would be a perfect match, Taylor isn't Premiership quality.

I imagine Steven Gallen is furiously working his way through his book of contacts to get someone in. Hopefully agents don't just laugh out loud any more when they talk money. Decent strikers don't come cheap.

One other thought on Taylor - he has hardly played since September, and is out injured for another 2-3 weeks. Could he pass a medical in January? It must be possible that he just runs down his contract with us and leaves for nothing in the summer.

From his point of view that would make sense.

I can see Lyle Taylor ending up at Rangers. He has recently started following them on social media. They pay the wages up there and the huge fanbase can tickle his huge ego. I’ll thank him for his performances and goals & deride him for the sh1te he spouts on social media about Brexit and 100 other things he knows very little about.

(I am guessing that Rangers will have a somewhat stricter social media policy for their employees)

Red Henry claims that Taylor has rejected £16,000 a week from ESI.

I would say that 16000 is a fair and reasonable offer.
