Shay Given (Aston Villa), Keiren Westwood (Sunderland), David Forde (Millwall); John O'Shea (Sunderland), Stephen Kelly (Fulham), Stephen Ward (Wolves), Richard Dunne (Aston Villa), Sean St Ledger (Leicester), Darren O'Dea (Leeds), Paul McShane (Hull City); Glenn Whelan (Stoke), James McCarthy (Wigan), Seamus Coleman (Everton), Keith Andrews (Ipswich), Keith Fahey (Birmingham), Darron Gibson (Manchester United), Andy Keogh (Leeds), Damien Duff (Fulham), Aiden McGeady (Spartak Moscow), Stephen Hunt (Wolves), Liam Lawrence (Portsmouth); Robbie Keane (Los Angeles Galaxy), Kevin Doyle (Wolves), Shane Long (West Brom), Simon Cox (West Brom), Jon Walters (Stoke). What on earth is this bloke up to?? Hes got shane long in the squad whos injured and may miss the games, doyle who is suspended. Seriously, lawrence better than hoolahan/pilkington you are having a giraffe arent ya! How on earth has tierney not got in the squad Championship players and prem players barely playing a game for there club is what mostly makes this squad up, this bloke hasnt got a clue.....
Agreed - to see Spartak Moscow 1- 0 Norwich City is a tad heartbreaking - even more so when you think how well our boys have been performing in "the best league in the world", a league which does NOT include Spartak, Brum, Millwall, 1p5wich or Leeds! Oh well, Trappers loss is potentially Lamberts gain
Maybe Trappers was thinking 'hm, it's only Estonia, perhaps I'll pick my strongest squad when we have to face more difficult opposition' I think I've hit the nail on the head there
am i right in saying that both pilks and tierney are still eligible for england? both have represented ireland at youth level but i think they can still play for england. not saying they will get called up but i certainly feel tierney is good enough for an england call up, especially for an experimental friendly. as for hoolahan, its clear that trappatoni doesn't fancy him, probably cos he likes to play everyone behind the ball and hates flair
Sadly, for fans both of City and ROI like myself, that's probably true. He's picked what he needs to get through this play-off, it won't be pretty, but it will probably do the job. He's a stubborn guy, but I'm still hoping Hoolie will still make the final squad for the Euros, if and when. As for Tierney and Pilks, yes, still can choose either, so not going to happen just yet I'd say.
Ashton had his career ended on international duty and Green stupidly broke his ankle 5 mins into a pointless friendly....... I would love to have Tierney play his way into the England set up just before the Euros and the same with Ruddy and Johnson, but not at the expense of our season as we simply don t have the squad to rest our key players....
totally agree supernorwich. selfish but i'd rather none of them get called up! they are much safer sitting on their sofas watching the internationals!
While I agree entirely with those sentiments, I feel sorry for those lads because, unlike the pile of **** that regularly turns out for these internationals, OUR lads would were their shirts with pride! Should we deny them that?
no, of course i'd be delighted for them if they all got call ups, thats why i said for purely selfish reasons! i'm sure thy'd all get a massive morale boost!!
