With him gone and F.H. always injured and with Ekstrand going...suposedly....

Who will be our back line next season then?

Doyley...you'll be there until you die on the pitch one day...:)

I would imagine Hoban will be back to full fitness, and isn't Angella staying? Also, if Manu's contract was only for a year, we could have a goalkeeping issue - do we bring in someone else more experienced and potentially be holding Bond back or give him the first choice slot and find he becomes another Loach?

Luke O'Nien can be defensive cover.

Hoban, Angella and Doyley wouldn't be bad.

I've heard Angella will be off and it wouldn't surprise me, he's been a fantastic addition this season

I wonder if some fans will begin to lose patience if the most successful of our loan players only stay one season. Getting used to a new set of players takes time and then just when you've started to admire their skills, buy the shirt etc, they're off.

Sad to say but we must get used to this - it is the Pozzos' business model - and after all it is not so far removed from the "selling club" ethos that we have been for most of our history. I remember just "getting used to" Dennis Bond and Tony Currie in the mid 60s before they were flogged. The only time we have not needed to sell players was during SEJ's tenure. Even then we couldn't ultimately hold on to our most talented player, John Barnes.

I may be in the minority with this, but I'd be quite happy for us to be a shop window for players and stay in the Championship. The EPL is not one of my favourite divisions in football, simply because it is no longer really the desired state of football for me...

But if the Pozzos could get (and keep) us mid-table in the EPL by recruiting cheaply and selling high (i.e. like Udinese) and not paying vastly inflated prices for a bunch of mercenaries, would you take that?

Probably not - so I guess it's lucky I have no say in the matter. :)

I get to The Vic little enough these days & suspect that I wouldn't make the effort at all to watch an EPL match.
