I checked the weather yesterday and it was supposed to be torrential until last night and then dry so it should be ok.

I feel sorry for people going by train though, I had a midnight trip around the south coast to get home the last time I used the train because the main line was shut.

Weather warning for fans attending Sunderland vs QPR
Published on Tuesday 27 November 2012 14:32

BLACK Cats bosses are warning fans to take care on the way to the Stadium of Light tonight.

Sunderland AFC is advising supporters attending tonight’s fixture against Queens Park Rangers to plan their journey in advance and heed traffic and travel advice.

The warning comes after 48 hours of heavy rain have caused chaos on the roads, with surface water and flooding on some routes.

SAFC’s head of safety Paul Weir said: “We would advise supporters to check the usual travel reports before setting off on their journey and to also allow extra time to travel to the stadium to take into account the weather conditions.”

There have been no weather-related problems at the Stadium of Light or in the surrounding area.

Tickets for the game are still available from the box office or club’s website.

Fans are also reminded that cash turnstiles 13 and 14 will be open from 6.15pm, with tickets priced at £30.

There will be no concessions available at the turnstiles, so under-16 tickets must be purchased from the ticket office.
