I'd guess it's because at the time of the one at SB there was more spotlight on racism in your club than others. Unfortunately that's the way it is and the same happened to Liverpool with incidences involving a couple of there fans(one was incorrect too). As much as racism needs to be addressed and we need to make sure it is being stamped out of the support, I don't believe in giving attention to the idiots who act on their own and do something so stupid, one idiot in no way represents a club and so there's no need to stick them in the news. When you get hundreds/thousands singing vile chants like West Ham did, that's when the focus needs to also come on the club. As an aside, if you look to the left and up there's some old biddy giving Lukkaku some abuse too
It's bad enough at any time but given how under the spot light racism is at the moment, it takes a pretty special kind of ****** to do that at a match nowadays.
Because the England captain being banned for racism and your players accusing Clattenburg of racism were far more high profile than Bent's mum, therefore making any racial incident surrounding the club more newsworthy although I remember the Darren Bent's mum one, I'm pretty sure it got in all the papers.
So then it's not about what you've done it's about who you are? I'm not having a go, you are rght but it's a damning indictment of society.
And now Swansea and either City or Manure have had fans arrested and yet I don't see the papers crawling all over the personal lives of the fans involved as they did with our 'alleged' racist fan.
Doesn't matter where you go, there are drop- kick plonkers in every Club, city and country in the world. This bloke is right up there though, considering the furore of the past months. From the VERY shallow end of the gene pool.
Essentially, yeah. I don't think it's wrong the way it is but I do think the idiot fans making gestures or shouting stuff should be largely ignored by the media(I said the same after the Chelsea fan got done). The only useful thing about the media picking it up is that it can help identify them although they seem to be getting picked out well enough by their clubs. It'd be interesting to know whether the upsurge in arrests at games is to do with idiots picking it up because of all the media coverage on it or fans becoming more comfortable with/aware of reporting incidences.
And so the Chelsea supporter is innocent despite the papers best attempts to drag him and the club through the mud.
What you think a guy making a monkey gesture at a black player is my "better"? What a weird world you live in.
