What is going on, we've not even made an official offer yet for Tomlin? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36589995 http://the72.co.uk/58161/bristol-city-striker-target-tweets-transfer-update/
Question So is this just Tomlin shouting his mouth off (yet again) in the media ? He appears to be a bit of a loose cannon in terms some of his comments over the last few months. Or is it the usual BCFC head in the sand attitude ? Or is it a little from column A and a little from column B ?
Simple Tomlin has wage demands far in excess of our wage structure, and Johnson does not wish to lose the squad dynamic and support by undermining it
If that is the case, then the club should have come out and announced that they would be unable to pursue the permanent signing of Tomlin at the end of last season, rather than have fans hope that a deal may be struck. Unless they are banking on him dropping his wage demands which is probably very unlikely.
I'm reading this as Tomlin saying.. "Stop constantly tweeting me. You have not even made an offer, its not greedy wage demands on my part!"
Maybe it's because we are doing what's been stated. ENQUIRING He's been away, so apart from talking to Bournemouth who are probably yet to decide what to do, it takes time.
He's had a wedding, a honeymoon in Mexico and he was back for the weekend then jetted off to Spain on Monday. Not exactly been a man easy to talk too! I agree with Banksy, this isn't Tomlin shouting his mouth off its him answering the hundreds of messages he gets a day on Twitter. At least we now know the situation and by him saying this it makes me think he's waiting for an offer, therefore he does want to come here... Get it done city!
But this is all in complete contradiction to what Ashton has been saying to the press which is 'we are in constant touch/still talking to Lee Tomlin' So one or the other is lying.
They probably are in conversation, doesn't mean they haven't because we've yet to offer him anything. Probably trying to work something out.
I understood that we had met their asking price, but guess no point making a firm offer until player is willing to come and wages at least structured. I guess meeting the asking price was more of an agreement to say that we were interested. Guessing really
