Queens Park Rangers have reportedly had a bid turned down for Auxerre striker Paul-Georges Ntep. Italian source Tutto Mercato Web claim the Championship outfit were in pole position, only for Auxerre president Guy Cotret to reject their advances in favour of moving Ntep to fellow French side Rennes. A £4million transfer will probably be completed in the coming days. QPR manager Harry Redknapp is said to be on the lookout for a forward as he attempts to lead the Loftus Road outfit to automatic promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. Serie A side Lazio were also keen on the idea of luring the player to Italy but have hit a brick wall, with Rennes firm favourites to get their man. Ishak Belfodil could have been announced as a QPR player today if things had gone to plan. His agent travelled to London with the assumption he'd be doing so to close a deal with the Championship club and get a transfer through before the window started to close. However, it's not quite worked out like that according to an exclusive from TMW in Italy, who will have likely spoken to the agent. There's a claim that QPR changed the terms they were set to offer Belfodil, leaving his agent returning to Milan empty handed and probably wondering what had just happened. On Tuesday night there will be a new meeting , this time in Milan to see if the deal can be saved. Should the QPR option fail for Belfodil then his agents have already set up an alternative club in West Ham. Belfodil agent returns to Italy after QPR change terms, West Ham could steal the player. Belfodil is a 22 year old Algerian international forward, currently at Inter Milan. Any move would likely be initially a loan given his complicated ownership. With his agent seemingly happy to leak updates of negotiations to the Italian media then more should be known soon. Redknapp is now likely to turn his attention to other targets ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline, with Leeds United hitman Ross McCormack also on his radar.
We're going to end up without anyone aren't we? This is almost a mirror image of the PL transfer windows where we dragged in players from all over without due diligence. Now we look to be way too cautious and it's almost like Beard is being disciplined to the point of complete failure. HR must be doing his nut.
It was the Rienne Chairman making all the noises about him having a medical and such, doesn't mean it was true. It would be a massive lift if he does sign, just have to wait and see.
He was just keeping us up to date with the local media reports. He would at least recognise the fella.
Exactly, it's the media who's been saying what's happening, but who's to say the french media aren't any different than our rags who print a load of tosh.
So, who reckons TF should just go offer 10mil for Rhodes and be done with it. If he doesnt make it next season just sell to a NPC team for half price. With the extra TV money Tf could afford the hit couldnt he? Or would that jut be buying promotion ?
Wasn't the same bloke spotted at the Huddersfield match???!!!!....But got to say his build is certainly that of a football player, and not a business executive friend of Tony's ...he is wearing an Air Asia cap too. Must say I also felt 'Arrys rather glib answer to the question about the striker tonight was odd too...."We will get one, there is one out there for us"
