Good luck today, of course I want us to finish above you and of course I want bragging rights.

But TBH I think its good that we are so near and the table really dosnt lie, whoever ends off top will deserve to be top.

Main thing for me is we are both still here and can do it all over again next season, is this were I say, 6 easy points, well maybe not quite as loud as last season.

    Cheers. <ok>

I never used to want you guys to go down because I enjoy the derbies (I don't get how some people don't :undecided:), always wanted you to get sucked into the dogfight though. ;)

6 easy points? Probably. There are only so many stoppage time equalisers Gyan can fluke. <ok>

    Cheers syd <ok>

Same as AG, the season just isn't the same without that constant nauseous feeling. As you said, its great that we're both there, especially when you consider we both sold our prize goalscoring asset and are both sitting on top of the injury list table (and have been for the majority of the season). Would be great for both teams to win and go out with a bang!

wouldn't exactly say you'd have the bragging rights even if you did finish above us when you take into account yours/ours expenditure/aims for the season.

In the pool of mid-table nothingness we find out respective clubs in, one finishing above the other doesn't really count for anything in the big scheme of things does it, and especially not to sane, mature, erudite and witty sophistocates such as ourselves. Of course, that sentence only applies if you somehow managed to finish above us. If we finish above you, then we are by default the bestest, biggest, most beautiful club in the North East, with the handsomest and most intelligent, passionate and football knowledgable fans.

The trouble up here is that Newcastle are obsessed with finishing above Sunderland and vice-versa. Malcolm Macdonald said years ago that Newcastle would never progress as long as there was this parochial mentality and I think he had a good point.

I think you are resigned to finishing under us and are trying to soften the blow.

I know you well enough now syd.

    Thats Bull,
I want to finish above Sunderland because it's one less team we need to finish above to win the league! I think over the last 10 years the rivalry died down because we had "bigger" aspirations at the time!
It's back now because we are similar
