OK this is going out with the clubs approval i.e. it's no big secret.........and the club want it known, apparently an internal memo has been sent around the club to ALL the staff from the very top down. The gist of it is:

Any statements made by any members of the club staff regarding the internal workings of CCFC require clearance through the press office, this includes not only releases to the official media, but also leaks to message boards and social networking sites. All members of staff will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement, which could result in dismissal if breached..........the club feel that leaked information in the past has cost them dearly in both the loan and transfer markets, as well as being unprofessional. The club is now working on a strictly "need to know" basis, so IF there is a leak it can be pinned down to a fairly small group of people. And this is a direct quote:

"Football is a multi-million pound business, and whilst the board of directors appreciate that there is intense interest from both the fans and the media, a football ciub should be run in the same way as any other large enterprise, and any decisions should remain confidential until the club decide to release a statement. You would not expect any other business to release details of accquisitions they wished to make or to make their investment targets public.......why should a football club be any different?"

Overkill, maybe, but you can't deny the professionalism of our owners, and they haven't put a foot wrong so far (off the pitch) and I'll go along with them.

It would also account for the lack of news coming out of the club................it's not that nothing is happening, we just can't find out about it, which in the long run has to be a good thing <ok>

Totally agree Proph. If I'm working on a bid / commercial deal I sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. No reason football should be any different. Don't want to give competitors any commercial advantage.

Being bitchy, I bet a certain message board will start to feel the pinch...............they will have to resort to making stuff up

    and that's MY job ;)

    mis-information proph, surely not.

I know I'm not supposed to know about it, but how's the deal to get Parkin to sign for the Blues rugby team going. Deiniol Jones would be a fair swap.

overdue as opposed to overkill imo Proph.<ok>

Now I'm confused. I can't remember what conversation I'm having on what thread. Can we combine the No News thread with the Any Loan News thread?

After "taking one for the team" with his tackle against Leicester...............Gypes would be a better signing for the Blues..............if he never does anything else, he deserves to go down in City folklore for that alone <ok>

Fair point proph. It's funny what players get remembered for. Saying that, Parking and Gypes together would just about make a Deiniol Jones. He's a big old unit.

Got the QPR game on and just looked up as the commentator said ' good header on for Bothroyd from Wright-Phillips'. I expected that combination, just not in that order.

The commentator is saying how strong Jay was and how well he was holding the ball up under some "muscular" challenges <yikes>

The difference is that we on this board take things in, digest them and if not believable spit them out.

On the other message board the believe everything.

How many times have you seen thanks for the update?

Understand the clubs point of view, but

"a football ciub should be run in the same way as any other large enterprise"

just makes me feel sad :(

I know what you mean, but football hasn't been "just a game" for a long time now, as you say sad but a fact of life unfortunately.

Okay so we lose the thrill of anticipation but as long as we get the best outcome I'm happy with that.

And what's wrong with an unanticipated climax - apart from sticky shreddies that is. :emoticon-0111-blush
