Derby takeover kicked into the long grass. Prospective Abu-Dhabi based owners fail to come up with the brass. Maybe they're eyeing City and are just waiting for the excuse! Unlikely.
What a great bloke. So open and honest. And he still has a sense of humour after working for that ****er. Mind, you'd need one to get through the **** show.
City is probably worth c£15m in Lge. 1, the asking price is c3 times that! Would you walk into Currys, see a telly you want with a ticket price of £750 and say it's your lucky day to the manager, I'll gladly pay £2,250! That said, with the lack of supporters over recent months I'm waiting for The Allams to state they have financed the club disproportionately this season, as such the selling price has gone up!
Should go to a Dutch auction. Ask for £30m for starters, then work down until someone indicates an interest, which I guess might be around £8m, if they're real lucky.
Tentative talks have started over the last week or two with an American consortium, the consortium are looking at hull due to a number of reasons, one being the fact we would be a debt free after the sale, another being the room in financial fair play to invest and push for a prem return and also the fact that so many clubs in the champ are in a financial mess due to covid and are currently under or are potentially having a transfer embargo placed on them. They have identified Hull as a potential quick win for the consortium. They also don't see the fact we don't Own the stadium as a negative, but would look to purchase it if it was possible.
So will I, I won't be getting excited about this until it becomes more concrete, but the info I've seen today shows me at a minimum it's genuine interest from the consortium. But it's very early days.
If I hear anything more that has any truth behind it then I'll definitely let people know, it's still extremely early days. But as much as people will hate to admit it, in the current climate.... We are more attractive then most
Let's just hope he's as keen to see it done this time as the consortium seem to be. My own personal opinion is that if we get promoted this season, mixed with the current world we live in and the financial position of the majority of champ teams... This summer would be the allams best chance to see anything close to their asking price.
The problem is and I think this has been mentioned before, due to his ability to be anything other than a **** the boy would likely want to still be involved. There are 3 million unemployed in this country and most infinitely more employable than him.
