The division we're in is not relevant. Their asking price is always too much for potential buyers regardless.
It is actually If we’re in the PL they can sit back and live on TV money then parachute If we’re still in the Championship then they’ll be losing £ every month so the sale price will gradually get lower (right now I suspect they’re hopeful of a fluke promotion so aren’t pushing it)
There's been no chance upto now with the price they want. As OLM said I think it was a week or 2 ago, they actually want out so imo the prem would be the quickest way to get rid for the price they want. I may be wrong, I may be right. I have no control over it so I'm just enjoying seeing us looking up rather then at the trap door ATM
Promotion to the EPL would gaurantee them how much, £200m? What do you believe they would do with that money? I'll answer that for you, as somehow you don't seem to have grasped the way the 'Allam way'. They'll invest very little in squad strengthening and pocket the majority for themselves. Then we'll be relegated again. Then they'll task the development staff to go find them some bright young prospects. Then we'll stuggle to stay in the championship again for the next couple of years as they lap up the parachute money, money, money. We'll very likely achieve League 1 status in this period. Then they'll blame the Council and HCAFC fans. By then the Zombie apocalypse will be in full swing and Oyston will have bought the club for a £1. Oh and OLM will be in a maximum security prison on 'Windass way' security gates everywhere. THIS IS THE FUTURE. IF YOU TOLERATE THIS, THEN YOUR CHILDREN WILL BE NEXT...
Or we can stay in the championship, still have them here wanting an unrealistic price for the club and potentially fall down the league's and never get rid of them But hey it's fun looking at things from different angles is it!
Excellent post Kemps, could not add to it in any way. It reminded me a bit of Star Wars and I thought if we could shoot a City one who would play the parts ? Putting Nige down for Obi Wan, The emperor speaks for its self ! All the rest I am open to suggestions.
For all their phenomenal amount of faults they know what their balance sheet looks like. This year is the first year since we were promoted (while they’ve been here) when they’re in danger of their gift not actually paying them a heavy fee without the club value plummeting. They might hang around and keep cutting costs, but there’s a danger that the money keeps haemorrhaging I think (and we do all have different perspectives) If we don’t go up they might not go If we do go up they’re definitely staying for several painful years TWT
TWT your absolutely right, if we could guarantee which end result would get rid of them the quickest then I'd back that route 100% but unfortunately we don't. So for me if there are staying, I'd rather see us in the prem which the fans and team deserve ATM and the possibility someone's makes them an attractive enough offer due to the potential return on investment and they sell. As apposed to us staying in the champ getting worse and worse each season, potentially dropping down even further and them still having an unrealistic price that nobody will meet and them staying... Everyone will have there own view and opinions. But we can all agree that the sooner they go the better...which ever league we are in
The problem with all this is that they don't live and breathe Hull City like we do. They have lots of their stuff in their lives that they find more enjoyable. interesting and far less problematic. As we have seen they change their minds and strategy on a whim, without communicating it. Trying to guess when they will finally sell is a mug's game. As with Gategate and the moonlighting groundsman saga, what registers on the radar as a priority is weird. Some people will say anyone is better than the Allams, but that's not a given (unfortunately....)
