Nigel Pearson has pretty much ruled out us signing any new players. So the only way we can now strengthen will be loans http://m.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/story.html?aid=19582385 So I take it we still a long way off from being close to breaking even
So if we did sack Nigel like you wanted that would be more costs plus the fact the new manager would be stuck with Nigel's team
I never have and never will ask for anybody to get sacked..that's for the owners ..I just don't think pearson will get us promotion..if you think he will get us up this season, Im thrilled for you I don't feel the same.. on your logic if we are bottom by october you would stick with him...fine...
Have we ever struggled under NP? The lowest we have finished with him is 9th and he had Svens team and he was only here for just over half the season This is pretty much the side that reach the play offs and with Wood being here for the whole season we should be stronger then last year. Also if we not signing anymore players surely we cant afford to lose Sean St. Ledger, Neil Danns, Martyn Waghorn and Danny Drinkwater as we will be very light on numbers
So it appears the million pound a season man will benefit from his own failure? we are now hamstrung... if you can't read between the lines I can... he is admitting we are short in player quality and numbers... so don't expect too much.. happy days..
We have no money for transfers so we should sack NP and get in the likes of Warnock as we have no money for a decent manager - good plan.
We obviously haven't got rid of enough deadwood. Maybe the target of seven departees was the minimum we needed to be able to buy after all. Harsh on Pearson, who is now feeling the full force of Sven's legacy and the idiocy of FFP.
Yes Cynical...as always with Pearson. but as you say to everyone else, if thats your opinion...good luck to you haha. Lets be right here.....no one is excited about the season in terms of our promotions prospects. It is what it is unforuntaely and due to FFP we have to make do with what we have got No point moaning before a ball has even been kicked, though I know a few will (we all know who the moaners are!!) and will do so all season, unless we go on a winning streak and then they go into hiding until we next lose a game!!) thats how its works isnt it??? Should Pearson have gone last season? Maybe? Probably? But worse case, I see it that we have some much needed stability at last, no big upheavel of manager or 15 new players coming in during the close season, so lets see where what we can do with what we have this season....we have no other choice! Pearson for all his good and bad points is working with one arm behind his back in all fairness, his recent comments obviously suggest he would have liked to have done a little more business and even stated we are short in numbers in defence. It amazed me to read an article yesterday, a City "fan" saying that because Pearson is trying the 3-5-2 formation that he is panicking?? Jesus, the bloke cannot win sometimes. If he does nothing people say he has no Plan B and he is too pig headed to change things or try something new and different........ so he trys to freshen things up and try a new approach and I add...an approach and formation that was very successful for Watford and (in all honesty) an average Hull side last season and some clown says he is panicking. As I said for all his failings (not that many!!!) he cannot win whatever he does. Anyway, I'm bordering on having a MOAN here, good heavens haha so better stop! It could be a long season, but hopefully as the expectations are not particularly high this season, we may hear less moaning? haha who am I kidding, it has already started and we have not even played our first game...oh god help us all !! lol
yeah.. nothing to do with the manager..he is only in charge... he was not working with "one hand tied behind his back" last season..and still went on a 17 game no win run and scraped into the playoffs by default.... in a very poor division.... but lets see........I suppose its a case of we have got lemons..lets make lemonade..
this FFP doesnt sound like its very fair play at all with it being so hard to adhere to, surely we should be allowed to spend more money or whats the point of owning a football club like us or leeds over someone like dagenham!!
nor did he have one hand behind his back when he lead us into the automatic spots (swings and roundabouts mate) scraped into the playoffs indeed, but in the playoffs all the same (half glass full / half empty ) But life is full of opinions, the main point of this forum. Love or hate Pearson, he is here to stay for the time being.
being in the top two in january don't count... the season finishes a few months later. it does make the flop down look worse though.. keep defending nige.. Im sure he won't let you down..
Hes not going to have long for things to go right, Mboro will give us a good idea of where we are at, was a close game at the KP last season.
