Just looking on the rule changes on the WFC website for this season, the one that stuck out for me was the no more multi ball rule! I quite liked the multi ball rule when it was used correctly, the game kept moving more fluently! Only problems I saw was when the ball boy's got a little too eager! What's your thoughts?

There were positives and negatives of the multi-ball system, sometimes it was to our benefit when we were on top, but when you are losing it can and invariably did go against us!

I think another problem here is you often get idiots, (especially away fans) who like to hide the ball and refuse to give it back. With MB it did not matter cos it just meant the ball boy looked a wally trying to get it back, but now it will hold up games and break up play which can mean players loose concentration.

If the ref thinks about it and engaged his brain there would not be an issue with another ball on the pitch as either the player nearest would remove it or the ball boy would grab it. So long as it did not disrupt play there are no issues.

Those problems are extremely easy to solve Dan, if the powers that be are prepared to use their teeth.

I know, all the issues with multiball are easy to solve, as are the issues of not using it. The issue is the powers that be dont do anything.

the powers that be are toothless , spineless and gutless! I think this a retrograde step to help the game keep flowing!

Never mind multiball. I think they could solve all problems in football by recruiting 46 people who are nearly as obscure and annoying as Robbie Savage, send one to each match, and punishing every infraction not worthy of a red card by forcing the culprit to listen to him for a minute.

I am delighted the FA have got off their comfy backsides and have stamped out such a major issue of corruption!

Have they really got nothing better to do with their time?

Well they needed a break from the technology debate so they went back to basics.

I believe it came about when Cardiff said they had no money and couldn't afford more than two balls per game. :(

I do like it when the ball goes out of the stadium and someone makes comment on the free ball and the expense of it lol.

It's probably a good thing that it's been banned.

There wasn't 1 game where there would not be 2 balls on the pitch at once at Vicarage Road......

I remember that goal last season where it went out for a throw in..our player thought it was still in and ran down the pitch.....only for the ref to give a throw in with the player out of position, the ball still on the pitch and another ball is thrown on and they score.

yep, i remember that, but i think there are more advantages than disadvantages to multi ball...i agree, this is a shame for the flow of the game, which is bad enough a fair amount of the time as it is...

In that case all the powers that be have done is made life harder for young, aspiring referees. After all, it's manditory to publicly screw Watford over if you have Premier League or international aspirations. Just look at Stuart Attwell: we put him well and truly on the map, and nobody has emulated him in the last three years.

Multi ball had to be good thing, anything that gets up Colin's nose must be a positive. Another thing that irks me is why refs don't get people like Delap to hurry up with throw ins. If you're unlucky enough to be at the Emirates when Stoke visit you could spend £20 worth of your admission price watching him dry the ball!

No chance of that ,would only be at the emirates if we had them in the cup!:) MB does take one avenue of time wasting away!
