Shame 'cos he looked lively in the games he's played so far. 3 injuries in 3-4 months can't be a good omen though!

Send him back to Villa so they can pay his wages next season, and then get another 6-month pay-as-you-play loan in Jan.

Get a loan with option to buy like with HBA, I think the 2nd and 3rd injuries have only came about because we rushed him back from the original.

so if his injury was so bad in the first place and we've "rushed him back to soon"(fit to play with 6 games left plays in 2 then crocked for ****s sake) why get the ****er in the first place don't need him imo

Send him back to Villa in the summer, get Dorrans instead. Although he hasn't been much better with injuries this season either.

What a ****ing joke he is!
He can **** off right off, wouldn't want to see us paying stupid wages for someone to sit in the physio room for most the season. Don't care if he's looked promising, he's a liabilty and we can get just as good as him I feel.

I thought this thread was some sort of crazy loyalist outburst...

I'm glad you were talking about the player, you had me worried for a bit!

He is the definition of a player who is only in football for the money. Very talented but quite obviously does not give a ****.

Shouldn't have brought him in to start with, think it was quite well known from the start he wouldn't be able to perform. A bit of bad business by Pards.

Why the hell are people saying he's a joke and only interested in the money because he's injured?

It's not like he's done it on bloody purpose. I'm sure he's gutted that he's out.

I get that it's frustrating, but he hasn't done anything wrong.

It's a shame as he's looked decent in his 2 brief appearances and it would have been nice to have seen more of him

I like Ireland so its a tough decision but quite honestly I'm sick to death of injury prone players, for once I'd like us to rid of ourselves of these people and get in players who have good injury records, Coloccini for example who I'm sure hasnt missed more than about 2-3 games in 3 years.

He's on pay as you play, so has received barely any wages, yet has continuously conveyed his gratitude towards Newcastle. So quite clearly isn't in it for the money...

Do you remember that season he had when Robinho first signed? Back then he was one of the best attacking players in the premiership, he was creative, effective and great to watch. Since then he has done exactly nothing in his career. At first I put it down to falling out with his manager and thought he was sure to be back to his best once he moved to a new club. At Aston Villa though he hardly ever played either, and put in useless performances when he did get picked. I know he complained that it was because Houllier didn't like him, but I don't buy that as he seemed happy to be there at the start of the season. He just seems to not want to play football in my opinion.
