Jenkins says we will not be tempted to sell Michu (20 million or so may change his mind though) Laudrup doesn't have a fixed budget to work with to strengthen the squad in January, and it seems that our policy of signing rookies with potential is out the window in favour of top level experienced players. Could this be our best ever transfer window? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20592466
looking forward to see who will be comming. I have no doubt there will be one or two surprises along the way. Just hope we do our buisness early, so no last minute problems as we have seen in recent years, with this so called international clearance.
I've heard that our 'targets' are pretty much done and dusted already. Just a case of dotting the i's and crossing the t's in January
So any inkling who the targets are? ML has expressed a desire sign JDG full time, but that will probably keep until summer. ML mentioned a striker, midfielder and defender. Who do you guys think is on the radar? Dai? ;-)
I have not heard any rumors yet about targets but i bet Sir mike will already have them penciled in, As for michu then i have heard that he is almost certain to complete the season with us but will probably move on after that for mega wages somewhere..
Nothing more than that really, I was talking to a bloke in the pub who knows someone connected with the club who said that a few deals have already been done and january is just a case of making it official. If you think about it, we knew most of our targets in the summer, but Laudrup isn't revealing anything this time. That may be because he knows that others will take note of his targets now that they see what good business he done in the summer, but I think it's because the deals are pretty much tied up and he doesn't want to piss anyone of by revealing what's on the agenda...if that makes any sense
I think / hope Michu is smarter than we all think. If there is one thing that protects us from the player poaching / agent money grabbing bs out there is the Leon Factor. What's the Leon Factor ..... looking brilliant for us but **** for Sheff Utd. Michu is scoring goals, but he's scoring them for us and we're a squad constructed to play a particular way that's rather unique in British football. Michu may not slot in so well with another Prem club, be as effective, look as good, get the chances he's having to score .... look at Gylfi, barely gets a look in at Spurs. This is not to say that Michu couldn't find a good home back in Spain, but why would he go back there. And, sure he could make more money elsewhere in the Prem, but would he play any better or achieve what he is achieving on the field for us. Ask young Allen how much fun he's having at the BIG club on BIG money - sure he's probably getting close to being set for life ... but he's slogging away in front of a mediocre back four, making lateral pass after lateral pass, maybe a couple backwards now and again to keep the keeper awake, covering for Gerrard's bull ****. How much fun is that. Perhaps even Rogers' blarney is getting old - how many times can you hear the "fantastic" record or see the envelopes being waved in the air before you go "**** me, what am I doing here". The Leon Factor is a shield that I think will protect us from losing our smarter players. Laudrup will be the another. HJ, with a smart use of a little cash, can be a third. Let's see how many players want to jump ship next summer when they could be playing in Europe for us.
A calculated guess will be players from abroad with an eye on not only sustaining PL status but looking towards next season (I hope I haven't jinxed us )
A choice of henderson and downing and cash or keep michu. Michu anyday. Laughable suggestion that we'd sell so low. As I've said before; if Liverpool valued Allen at £15 and Carroll at £30m+ then Michu is priceless. It's quite nice to see top teams fans jealously eyeing up our squad, how far we've come. And to think I used to rate Freestone as my favourite player, these days there's 7 or 8 of my favourite players in any given match day squad.

Just because we got a bargain, this prize idiot seems to think we'll sell him on the cheap to Liverpool on the basis that we'd be making a good profit. Why should we be satisfied with a good profit when we could make a GREAT profit by selling him for say £15 million which is closer to his valuation? Not that I'd sell him anyway. Does this numpty think we're in business to find bargains for Liverpool? Who the hell does he think he is? Who does he think we are? Liverpool's feeder club? Does he imagine that we would remotely be interested in taking Liverpool's failed dross off their hands? What arrogance! What idiocy!! This guy must have a degree in stupidity!!! We are reaping the benefits of having the great Michael Laudrup as our manager, one of which is his ability to find genuine diamonds for costume jewellery prices. Liverpool wanted Rodgers. They got Rodgers. They can keep Rodgers. And Rodgers can damned well go and scout his own bargains.
