We need to put the cup game behind us and kick on big time. We have an opportunity here and while Wigan are not playing amazingly well I would never count them out.

We need to go hell for leather 110%, bully them and if necessary destory them for the 3 points.

Also I'm done with the respect for Lambert. I respect what he did for this club but I don't respect him. He seems like a pretty poor person.

Never meet your heroes and all that.

When he comes back here with Villa next year I don't want any polite applause, no respectful silence. I want him, as a man that played in a city frought with sectarian violence, to come away from that match shocked, appalled and haunted by the thing we call him. the time for respect is OVER. Next time PUNISH HIM.

In all probability, he would probably thrive if you insulted him, it would be what he wanted, he has a hide thicker than a rhino. We were very foolish at Ipswich when we boo a Leicester city striker, sorry his name escapes me, well it turns out he has a terrific goalscoring record against us, and has admitted the booing encourages him, realise a manager can not influence the game as a player does, but you must see what I mean. You mention silence, not sure how you know it is all respectful, silence would be your best weapon, Lambert would not like that. Allways do to the opposition, the thing they least want, booing is a sign of respect, whether you like it or not.

    Why the change since Tuesday?

Did he do something to antagonise the fans?

He gave the villa fans a wave on request (but then so did hoots to us when things were more even earlier in the game) and celebrated the goals and the victory at the end. All things he has done in the past as our manager(Colu anyone). There were several people in the barclay that seemed pretty upset by it shouting out some abuse that he couldn't possibly of heard.
I don't think he was particularly out of order, as has been said by others he's no longer worth the breath. We've moved onwards and upwards. Ignore the bugger he's history. I do hope the smug bastard takes villa down though! ;)
    Bah!

I have to say I don't have strong feelings either way regarding Lambert. He was our manager, did a great job, and has now moved on as have we.

    That's football.

On a more relevant note, I am really looking forward to the game on Saturday. I don't think the result in midweek was particularly relevant and will have little bearing on how things pan out this weekend. Fingers crossed for a fit again Tettey!

Agreed. I have no animosity towards Lambert whatsoever, frankly I don't see how we can hate him for leaving our club if he wasn't happy there. And no doubt he does absolutely thrive off any abuse he gets from the fans either.

I agree his achievements were great but I've just come to the conclusion that the guy is a complete ****. He was the **** we needed at the time no doubt, but a total **** all the same. He doesn't have to sue to club, he could walk away, he's pursuing it because he doesn't care what anyone else thinks of him. Whether that was how he was raised footballing wise I don't know but it will bite him in the arse one day.

    He will become unemployable

Think we need Tettey, he could prove key, they are pretty strong in the middle of centre midfield, rate McCarthy highly and Jordi Gomez has looked dangerous this year.

Me neither, did a great job for us.Made a mistake with Villa, they might avoid the drop but only because weight of numbers down there means it's one from several.

Im over it!! More than happy with his replacement, and time to move on. I made my feelings clear towards him at Villa Park, and now feel its time to concentrate on the future, not the past.

Although i do hope he does a Mike Walker, fails miserably and sends Villa down.

don't agree with the animosity towards lambert and i find it even stranger to suggest it after the match. he acted no differently to how he did against colchester and we lapped it up back then.

oh, and i hate to tell you this, but you come across a bit 'mikey' over this.

Agreed. Quiet respect for what Lambert achieved here (which can never be taken away from him) and noisy respect for Chris Hughton, who has taken over PL's legacy, tweaked and fine tuned it - to everyone's satisfaction and onwards and upwards <ok>

I mean look at the binners. A laughing stock under Keane, then Jewell arrives and things proceed to get even worse <yikes>.

No such worries for the yell'army!
