Leeds United manager Simon Grayson insists there has been no unrest from in-demand winger Max Gradel.

The Ivorian winger has been linked with a summer move away from Elland Road as he has only one year left on his contract.

Championship rivals West Ham tabled a bid for the 23-year-old, although that move was swiftly rebuffed by Leeds' hierarchy.

Gradel scored Leeds' midweek winner against Rochdale and Grayson insists the winger is focused on giving his best for the club.

United's manager insists Gradel has not submitted a transfer request, nor has he indicated that he would like to move on.

    No request

"I don't know where people get this stuff from," Grayson told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "There's been no written transfer request and no unrest from him.

"You've seen from his performances in pre-season that he's focused on what he needs to do, and we don't want him to leave.

"People are out there to cause a bit of trouble and unsettle players but I spoke to Max about the situation and told him to focus on his football. That's all he wants to do.

"The only people who matter in this is myself, the chairman (Ken Bates) and Max Gradel."

Don't forget the fans Grayson, they matter too. But if this is true! Good news for us all

    Fantastic news if that's true.......

However, my over-active bowel movements would be aided no end by the news of Gradel's signing a new contract (with Leeds obviosuly !).

This is true... I think we all may have been a little sceptical. But anything can happen in 12 months, he may have a bad season, he may get injured, He may be prolific. Maybe he's chasing us for a contract!

12 months ago, mad max didn't think he'd ever wear the white shirt again after that escapade. But prove us all wrong Maxi and show us your just as passionate about the club as Becchio!!

Would put a lot of the cr*p on here firmly to bed if Max were to sign a new contract. It would also help if we were to sign a keeper as well. At least the cynics on here might have slightly less to say
