We need to give them a break and back them 100%. Whether it be Burley or Butcher, Coyle or Curbishly, Shearer or Strachan, it dies not make any difference, without our support it will make survival so much harder. I have certain favourites and others i cant stand but have come to the conclusion that whoever gets the job deserves our backing to say we will wash our hands with Ipswich if ,lets say, Curbs gets the job is totally unfair
That is not a dig st anyone btw as even i have said if certain managers got the job then thats it for me. I wad wrong as whoever gets the job should be judged on Town results and not the past. Oh and i meant does not dies above! Damn phone keyboard and chubby fingers dont go!
Unless its Shearer it seems I can't go along with this. The club has to go a long way to earn back my support. If it's more of the same I am just not interested.
I do agree with you Spanish, we do need to get behind the manager and in all honesty we're not a set of fans to be very vocal if we don't agree with an appointment, more of just going along with it. If I'm honest the one person I see no positives if we appoint is Megson and for that reason if we do plump for him I won't be going to any matches in the near future..
I understand the "If it's more of the same I am just not interested" as you guys have been served up some real dross in the last two seasons but part of that post seems quite an odd statement on the surface Yorkie. Define "go a long way to earn back my support". Would, for example, 3 or 4 wins on the bounce get you excited once again and rebuild your enthusiasm, or would you need to see more over a longer period? Is it a case of if you do not get out of the bottom 3 then you are just giving up? and if you get out of it and stay out of it you will support them once again?
I don't want to accuse him of that as I did the very same thing when Chase screwed us over when he sold Chris Sutton after making promises that it would not happen. That was bad enough on it's own to make my blood boil but he went much further than that when he sold all of the other forward thinking players! It took me another 3 seasons after Chase left to get the enthusiasm to return to CR and by that time it had all turned to real ****. I have no problem with any Town fans feeling the way they do, I understand it only too well
When Jim was in charge I was a regular at Portman Road and I was in Ipswich for Keane's first few home games (OK, I lived in London then and a jaunt to Suffolk for the afternoon was more feasible). After Saturday the next match is at St Andrews and I can't see myself clambering to be in the away end for what is likely to be the new man's debut in the dugout. In fact, chances are I'll wait till mid-December for the Elland Road fixture to see what we're made of. If, however, we appoint Mills or Burley (or someone else like Ian Holloway who would instantly get my blue blood pumping again) I will be on the phone to the ticket office faster than you can say 'Clegg Out' - so I can't agree that whoever we appoint I will get behind equally. If it's Curbs he's really got his work cut out.
fair call spanish, the best managers in world might struggle and then you could find a manager with a terrible record could hit upon something that works for us. so whoever it is will get my best wishes and support.
Lancs i honestly dont get it, could you really turn your back on the Town, i know i say things in anger but when it comes to it........... Cant change the old blue and white blood!
