Having watched all the Swansea games live all season, there seems to have been an issue today, where no venue could get live European satellite feeds from the likes of Viasat etc, anyone know why this happened, having phoned several establishments was told that no Premiership games will be shown today, was told by the landlord of my local that there was an issue and he had a backup stream, and his technician mate had adjusted the satellite dish, but the second backup source was down too. I played holy hell with some sky boffins, and warned them they had better not be behind this, but was told it is to do with the football authorities? In the end I watched the game live on Spanish ESPN on the net, but I hope this is not a start of closing down the Euro sat systems that have been such a great venue for those that can't get tickets. I know the season's nearly over, but today was an issue that I hope will not be repeated. Anyway any of you know what is up!................. If you don't know what I'm on about, then here's a link: http://www.euro-satellites.co.uk/?gclid=CMKnrYXRgK8CFQUOfAodG0Z_2w
According to the BBC, their feed for the game was down for the first half too, so they weren't updating very much.
my regular stream site posted a message a week ago saying that the FA are taking a load of action to limit the availability of 3pm kickoffs on foreign channels, particularly in English commentary. They therefore can only guarantee 1 premiership 3pm kickoff on saturdays from now on. Before, you could pick from every game going. The site did however show the swansea game today, but twice there were big interruptions caused by whichever channel was broadcasting it including a solid 15 mins where we lost all pictures. But yeah, basically the FA are clamping down on it. They can't seem to stop people watching foreign channels, so they're limiting what foreign channels can show
Bloody Buggers! that's all I got to say, I bet Sky are behind it ....................... please log in to view this image
Dont need commentary so turn down sound. Mind you some of the foreign commentators are hilarious .That's when you can't b there. I can't get to many away games so its handy
Wiziwig normally have a choice of about 30 different streams about a third of which supply a decent picture. Today there was a choice of just two and I lost that at half time. I was lucky, upon reflection, unlucky enough to get an excellent stream on firstrow. Wish I hadn't bothered. Really let down by that non-performance.
Yea I also had big problems catching the game today. Not all of us can get tickets. I had a leisurely cycle across the Thames today after the longest term ever and wanted to revisit where I was last Saturday. Craven Cottage, one of the few games I have been able to get to this season...Incidently I got lost and ended up cycling home before I found it.
Ivor chin up mate, Ashley Williams was a psycho today, he cost us more than once, never mind 3 wins out of 4 games this month, is not to be sniffed at!...............
Phil, I had a chat with the owner of a local pub last night that changed Sky Sports for a German satellite company that can get ALL Premier league games. Yesterday, he couldn't. He had a letter through yesterday saying that Sky is taking all foreign providers to court as they are A) Undercutting their costs (£3000 instead of sky's £15000) and B) Some of the games the other company show are streamed from Sky, hence the little pint glass in the corner. So, any game that is on BBC, Sky, or ESPN will not longer be streamed through another provider unless they win the court battle.
I thought sky where behind it Ash, if ever there was a corporation I would love to see go to the wall, it would be Sky! Anyway I've cut of their money supply............. please log in to view this image
First row works for me, and turning the volume down is a great idea especially when you have Barry Horne commentating.
I love it , without their money and exposure we wouldn't have premier league worth mentioning. But has money ruined football ? Yes without a doubt, who's fault is it ? The football clubs without question, they are the ones spending money like water and wasting it on players. It's not sky spending it , it's them
