He seems to have turned in to a decent player, I can remember voting for him for young player when he won it. but I always got the impression that money was the first consideration for him. Oh well, Never go back they say..
Think I would prefer Bikey or McManus. Now that would be heartening, but Buzaski would be a cool move for an attacking midfielder, and with maybe another 3 years left in him
You win some and lose some, but I think he really was never committed to BCFC on a long term basis. Derek seems to be the type of manager that stresses commitment to the shirt and I'm not sure that was the case with Keogh but good luck to him and we will move on without him. That's life!
'but I always got the impression that money was the first consideration for him' Not me Banksy - he went because GJ didn't pick him. Rickster - Said it before I will be gobsmacked if McInnes signs Bikey - disaster waiting to happen.
Hmm Gerrard has a bad attitude according to Cardiff fans I know and seems to like mouthing off on twitter. McManus isn't worth the money he'd want. Bikey is a talented loose cannon. Harry Maguire at Sheff United, Luke Ayling at Yeovil, Zak Whitbread on a free... Hard to think of realistic right footed centre backs. We have Tom Heaton and Mark Wilson on trial in Spain at the moment too, new GK and backup right back?
Derby have paid over £1m - surely too much?? My opinion is that Derby have "knee jerked" into this due to their Board/manager getting stick for selling Shackell As Wiz says - plenty of other pebbles on the beach
Never been a great fan of "twitter" and the problems it causes when players forget to put their brains (assuming they have some) in gear before opening their mouths. If I were in a position of control I would get all players to sign a document that would not allow them to tweet anything regarding club matters without incurring a substantial fine. No mobile phones on match day, in the dressing room or on the training pitch. If you want to be a slave to your mobile device then do it only in your own time and not while you are supposed to be concentrating on your job which pays you very well. The quicker this "foot in your mouth" capabilty is limited during employment time then the dressing room bickering will decrease and perhaps they can all concentrate on football. Makes perfect sense to me and bollocks to the human rights brigade who will say no to any sensible suggestion that would improve the game of football. Yes I am an old fuddy-duddy so there!
Hoping the Buzsacky deal still goes through now that Florist have appointed O'Driscoll, I know he ain't a iconic manager that they promised the club. But it was the owners that wanted Buzsacky and I would not go to a club with no manager but this could change things now.
I dont blame him for choosing Derby as they have a good manager and a club that could challenge for going up with a couple of extra players though saying that any club in this league has that chance but guess the main reason is £12k a week. Dont think we would have offered him half that when we are asking players to take wage cuts. I still think we should sign Zak Whitbread, as free transfer, lots of experience at this level and in the Premiership. Good leadership ability. The only bad thing about him is his driving which shouldnt matter on the pitch. Thought the teams currently linked with him are Wigan, Reading and Southampton. If money wasnt much of an issue I would go for Jack Hobbs of Hull.
You can't blame him for taking the money - we all would - don't know where he live's but he might not need to move if north side of Birmigham If Prem teams are linked with Whitbread then unlikely he will come here - agree that Hobbs is a top player (and built like a brick s***house) One thing that has struck me is that we have seen no photos from the club of the boot camp in Marbella - wonder if they are keeping potential trialists under wraps??
Not looking good that we missed out on Keogh (guess because of money) and now our other alleged transfer target Scott Loach has joined Ipswich Town.
