http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...ws/9225757.Watford_sign_deadline_day_striker/ A couple of months ago I said I thought Dyche was building a team in his own image and I haven't changed my view. A good honest trier, very committed, but scoring record isn't fantastic including a loan spell of 17 games and no goals at Huddersfield. Does play in midfield too though.
Forest fans seem to rate him quite well which is encouraging compared to the Burnley views on Big Chris. We have 4/5 strikers..I'd like to think 2 could get a partnership to gel and get enough goals. Probably use the loan system again when it opens.
I hope this purchase works. I worry for Chris Iwelumo as he is injured so quickly after arriving; I hope he is not repeating Heiðar when he came on loan from QPR, one game playing and two recovering.
Generally a good signing, not sure how iwelumo, deeney, sordell, weimann and garner with be cut down to two, a rare luxury at this club!
Hopefully he is a rediscovered find If we have done our homework he will fit in and be successful at the Vic and on the road Fingers crossed!
I do think they see Deeney as a midfield player - or the very least a 'utility' player - so will always be good to have on the bench now we can only have 5. if iwelumo is injury prone, then it leaves having to pick 2 out of 3, while the other on the bench. Hopefully competition for places will give them that pressure they need to perform week in, week out!
Des Lynam recently quoted a famous football manager as saying: ' the secret of good management is to keep the six who hate you away from the five who are yet to make up their mind'.
