On the Gills Official site, Mr.Kerslake states that he is sure that the players will have an extra incentive to do well at Bristol. They will be aware that other squad members are nearly recovered from injury and there will be more competition for places.................. so what do I make of this ? A cynical point of view would be that the players currently being used, haven't had incentive enough to play well ! A cynical finger can be pointed at the management for allowing players to merely go through the motions. The sort of press release by Mr.Kerslake does nothing to placate my feelings that, despite the injuries, our management cannot motivate the players to give 100%. The press release given by Mr.Kerslake is another insult to supporters who part with good money - and deserve 100% commitment from the players. I don't care if we win, draw or lose - I care that the team give 100% It's not as if I can return my season ticket and ask for a refund ! If I buy anything it usually comes with some sort of guarantee. I can usually get my money back if it doesn't work properly. Not so with football. The revelation by Mr.Kerslake that the players haven't been fully motivated, only aggravates me further - because the management are not addressing this issue - or are they just going through the motions.
