..... pre-season fighting between Newcastle & West Ham supporters although 20 people were arrested by German police. http://www.claretandhugh.info/shame...rss&utm_campaign=shameful-scenes-from-germany http://www.standard.co.uk/news/crim...during-preseason-trip-to-germany-9644384.html "Sam Rees, who runs a Newcastle United fan site told the Newcastle Chronicle: “I just thought we were having such a good time at the moment in the press and then we have this sheer stupidity from some people and it just makes us ashamed.”
I ****ing hate anything to do with football hooliganism. Big lads causing trouble in a City centre when there's women and kids about. Want to hang their heads in shame it's got no place in football. Fighting in gangs as well, Nowt but cowards. Not singling just these two clubs out it goes to any supporter of any club. **** bags
The only thing in the press I've heard regarding NUFC fans has been the untimely deaths of the two blokes on the Malaysian plane. The mind boggles.
The mags & hammers have history going back to that petrol bomb about 25 years ago. At least the horses were safe though
Not sure if its the same one you're referring to, but the time the 'fans' in the leazes soaked a rag in petrol and threw it into their enclosure was about 1980 I think. Things had been better lately though. Whoever started this - from either side - needs to be banned for life. They make think they are football fans but they are not. The ones who start it rarely get caught though and its the ones who respond (on both sides) who end up getting lifted. There are reports of more trouble tonight apparently, saying some West Ham fans broke into the Newcastle section after the game today. Haven't seen anything about it though except on twitter.
Funny isn't it Sid? Throwing petrol bombs at opposition supporters Booing Bobby Robson Smashing up the Toooooon every now & again Parading bedsheets & Cockney Mafia banners Dancing around outside SJP, conducting mock funerals, marches, walkouts, etc etc etc Invading the pitch & fighting during last season's friendlies Fighting during this season's friendlies And who's to blame ......... why aye man, it's just 'a handful of idiots'. Newcastle must have the hardest working bunch of idiots in the country. Wherever there's a Sky camera, a police escort or the whiff of tear-gas this dedicated little band will be there
Aye, they're a canny bunch. You forgot to add, trying to get play offs stopped until we charged them & they all ****ed off. B&W scum.
Relatively speaking though Smug, it is a handful of supporters compared to the vast majority who behave themselves. The vast majority of any club's supporters just want to watch a football match and have some friendly banter. The idiots spoil it for everyone. Sadly, we've had more than our fair share recently with the trouble after you beat us at SJP. I'd struggle to call them fans, but I can't deny which team they supported or that some of them had been at the game that day. It's sickening, but its nowhere near the majority.
I know mate, just a bit of fun ...... it just amuses me that Newcastle's comeback is always 'Well, it's just a handful of idiots' There was more than a handful when I was in the escort from SJP to Central Station. In all honesty I can't think of any club that's had more ludicrous demonstrations, funerals, protests, banners, walk outs, etc. There's a dedicated hard core of Willie Wonkers at Newcastle, it must make you cringe mate.
Yes, a hell of a lot of it does, though the stuff that makes me cringe is more to do with that side of things (the protests, etc) than any violence - that just makes me embarrassed. We're not alone in that side of things though and its got little to do with football. I honestly think for most of the hooliganism that took place on that day, Sunderland were the excuse for those dickheads to fight with the police. That's just my opinion though. The banners & walk-outs don't bother me, even though I don't agree with many of them. Folks pay their hard earned money and have a right to express dissatisfaction. in my book
The publishers sent it back and said my life is too far fetched and I have to start again - wish I could!!
So would I be right in saying that Newcastle supporters are hooligans and Sunderland supporters are angels
Thank you for that reassurance, like, I was beginning to worry their wings would get damaged when they went to S.J.P
