HUGHES: TOO SOON FOR DJ & HEIDAR Mark Hughes has confirmed that Saturday's London derby against Arsenal could come too soon for recent injury victims DJ Campbell and Heidar Helguson. The striking duo have been out of the side since January with long-term complaints and, while the pair are firmly on the road to recovery, Hughes says that both are more likely to make next weekend's trip the Manchester United. The Welsh boss also confirmed that Armand Traore will definitely miss the clash with his former side, saying: "We're progressing with the long-term injuries. "Armand is still out. He could be available next week. "DJ and Heidar are training with the main group, but they're probably not quite ready. "We'll crank up their training next week so they'll hopefully be ready for Manchester United next weekend." The Gunners make the short trip to West London in imperious form, having taken victory in their last seven Barclays Premier League outings. Rangers, on the other hand, come into the fixture off the back of a 3-1 defeat at Sunderland, but Hughes continued: "We've had a full week's training heading into the game and I anticipate a better performance. "Arsenal are playing exceptionally well. They're winning games. Their confidence is growing as a consequence of that. "They've got a lot of width and pace to their game at the moment. "All the good Arsenal teams of the past played with pace. (Tomas) Rosicky is playing very well at the moment. "It's a big, big test for us. This is as tough as it gets, but we've trained well all week and we're ready." The R's clinched a dramatic last-gasp win over Liverpool last time out at Loftus Road, and Hughes also feels that home advantage could play a part. "We fancy our chances at Loftus Road," he said. "We were exceptional in patches against Liverpool. No-one has come here and really turned us over. "It's down to us to stand up and be counted. That's the point Joey (Barton) was making with his comments earlier this week. "We're not thinking of relegation. We're focusing on every game and taking it on its merit. Our intention is to stay in this league and I believe we have the talent to do it."
So, what would be our attacking options today? We could have just Zamora up front with five in midfield. We could have both Zamora and Bothroyd up front but they're the same kind of player. Very similar, actually. Obviously, one is better than the other. We also could have Taarabt up front, just behind Zamora. Also, Mackie could go up front with Zamora. This would actually be my preferred choice. I think Mackie scares the daylights out of defences when he plays up front and he's scored for us in that position this season. We could.... bring back.... Rob Hulse....?
Zamora & Hulse or Zamora & Tararararabat up front with Mackie coming on with 30 to go playing up front
Hulse hasn't looked bad this year, in my opinion. But I'd still put a couple of others before him, especially today. We'll need to score more than them to win. I can't imagine Arsenal not scoring today.
I just read another thread saying HH is at the ground and in his kit. I assume its the footy kit and not stocking and sussies? Could be a shock starter..Could also be BS. dont shoot the messenger
