I am bitterly dissapointed and the few that were left of my football buddies who were still on the fence about CH have now changed.

I think yesterday has signalled the end for CH and his coaching staff. The majority of the fans were on his and the players backs yesterday and I have not seen such capitulation from ncfc players since our loss to reading at home the season we went down.

For me he has to go, if we stay up or not as I cannot see any reason to keep him on.

My question is simple, is there anyone on here who still thinks:

    1) He is a good manager.
    2) He is improving NCFC.
    3) he should stay and why.

I really would like to know because I can't think of any reasons to keep him on.

    1) No. In fact I think he is probably the worst manager in the Prem (maybe OGS but he has the excuse that he's fairly new and he has to work for Tan). (I accept there are managers who play even uglier football - Big Sam and Pulis - but at least they do it more effectively).
    2) No. I cannot name a single player who I would say has improved under his leadership. Tettey perhaps? Whereas the ruined careers (Fox, Garrido, Becchio, Butterfield etc), players not performing to their obvious potential (RvW, Hooper etc) and players who have gone backwards (Bassong, Ruddy, etc) could fill a book.
    3) No. He has destroyed three wonderful years of good work with his negativity, complete lack of imagination, absence of vision, inability to inspire, tactical obtuseness, and inability to respond flexibly to events as they arise. He has been a disaster for this club. His feet shouldn't touch the ground.

Hughton's tenure at Carrow Road has run it's course for the simple fact he has irrevocably lost the fan base. There is I believe no turning that round. What MUST happen though is Calderwood and Trollope must closely follow and shut the door behind them. IMHO their influence on CH and the tactics/lack of that City employ is far greater than is acknowledged.

On the Newsnow website there is a blog claiming that CH is calling for unity ahead of Norwich's 'biggest game' against Fulham. But surely each on our games this year have been our biggest so what's different? The team have rarely been able to lift their game away from home all this season so how does he expect the team to do it now? Having been beaten by Fulham at home in the Prem and away in the FA Cup I do not have any reason to feel positive.<yikes>

IMO - A very fair and accurate summary of his time in charge VC. I was a CH 'inner' but after the dross I endured yesterday, I would happily see him leave any time from today!

Appreciate we've had little to no success against Fulham but I'd suspect Swansea and WBA weren't looking forward to playing us given our previous results. Just saying funnier things could happen next weekend. Depends what state of mind our team are in.

Just read a crazy stat - at no point in 2014 have norwich equalised.

Anyway, give him time...better yet, let's give him next season as well. Remember, he's proven at that level.

Just hoping I wake up to hear he's been sacked. I don't care if it's harsh of me to want a nice man to lose his job - it's a lot sadder for thousands to have to watch their football team drip out of the premier league. How has it possibly come to this?

Who do we replace him with? Absolutely not anyone already at the club otherwise we are absolutely down. Not my first choice, but given the circumstances, Malks. Try and get some good feeling around the club. Lennon maybe. Again, not the manager I'd want but if anyone can get a goal out of hooper...

Only Ron Saunders, John Bond, Ken Brown, Dave Stringer, Mike Walker, John Deehan (sort of), and Paul Lambert have ever kept a City side in the top division before Hughton. It's not a very long list, & he deserves credit for his place on it.
So he's a better manager than some of us are starting to think. But... things have more than run their course. I don't think we've improved as a side during his time here, despite being well backed (by our standards) by the board, and I can't see anyway he could stay on.

One additional little thought about our Prem/old Div 1 managers occurred to me with that list though. As far as I can think, out of all our top flight managers, only Worthington has failed to keep a City side up. Doesn't mean anything of course, just struck me as odd that there's only one that never achieved a second season.

In fairness Deehan didn't really keep us up as we only accrued 16 points in the 19 games after taking over from Walker and then left us on the brink the following season before Megson's brief stint took us down.

I'm leaning towards this too. What we need now is a manager with some experience who simply isn't Hughton. I don't believe Malky is the man to take us forward long term, but right now he might be capable of keeping us up. His tactics aren't hugely different to Hughton's, but that's probably a good thing right now as it'd mean he'd get a lot out of our current squad. He's a City hero, and simply by not being Hughton he'd reunite the crowd. Seeing as our remaining home games are unlikely to yield anything whatever support there is from the fan, it feels like a non-issue though.

We need an away win at Fulham to survive. We're screwed.

I think we will need to draw or win against arsenal on the last day to stay up.

Well it looks as though they are going to be in a fight to get that 4th place position so that'll make it extra difficult for us.

I really cannot make a case for us staying up now

True, it's why I gave him a 'sort of'. He's something of an anomaly in that list & it's slightly unfair on Worthy, but he remains the only one to have not overseen survival. Odd, never occurred to me before.

Heart says Malky, but the head's not so sure. Have to think what we want for next season, whether Prem or Championship & I'm just not sure it's Malky. At the moment I'd go for Steve Clark, but that's really more about next season than this one.
