No dishonour today against Swansea, lads!

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, Dec 31, 2011.

  1. They are the side that went to Anfield and drew 0-0, and beat Stoke at home 2-0. For us to come away with a point is no discredit to us. Their pass-and-move game was a very effective counter-foil to our game, and it stopped us taking the kind of control over them that we have done with other, better sides.

As Harry said, there won't be many teams going to Swansea and walking away with three points. Certainly, Chelsea & United's losses are of far greater consequence, bearing in mind that both teams were at home, today. And although the Gooners beat QPR, at home, by a narrow 1-0 victory, they did not look at all convincing.

All-in-all, I think we have had a good first half of the season, and I am confident that we can repeat that performance in the second half.

    COYS!

I think we have now played 3 home games less then a couple of our rivals too <ok>

Been a good half season. Hopefully start new year with a win

Swansea were fantastic. Just because a team are newly promoted doesn't mean they should be a roll over!

    No dishonour?

It was the best game at The Liberty this season. We are no mugs and you wanted to play football, which suited us down to the ground. Man U were dour and secured a win. It was a pleasure to have Spurs at The Liberty - but you may not be playing football that will win you the title. <ok>

Swansea deserved to lose with their parking the bus and only an incorrect offside decision by the officials stopped it from being 2-0 instead of 1-1

I wouldn't say they parked the bus. They played some nice football and definately the best football out of the promoted sides.

Thought we were a bit down on form, but dug in when we were being pushed back.
Swansea played good football but lacked the killer touch.
After half time thought we were a bit more comfortable and defended well- Kaboul was immense again.

I only saw the highlights. From what I saw, Swansea were well worth their point. Having said that, if we seriously look upon ourselves as potential Champions, these are the sort of games we have to win -

  12. But how many of us expected to win the EPL this season?

At least we didn't lose, which is what we would have done not so long ago. We have to face the fact that the lower teams are going to have the odd good game against the big boys. United, who beat Swansea at their gaff, lost against Blackburn, FFS! and no one is going to suggest that United are no longer title contenders, let alone that they will slip outside the top 4.

Swansea deserved at least a point, it was a great open game. However, the goal we conceded was disappointing. We should have been able to keep it out.

That's why I don't see Utd being champions this year. The best Utd sides would have found a way, anyway, to win that game. That was what made them Champions so many times. Just finding a way to win, even when you're playing ****e.

That's what happens when you are considered a great team as teams lift their level of performance. Perhaps now you can understand the level that Man U have been operating at for 20 years - everyone has considered them a great team yet they have won 12 titles in that time.

Swansea parked the bus? That must have been written by someone that never even saw the game. Swansea were all over us for the majority of the second half until they equalised, had they carried on playing with the same spirit after they equalised then they could have gone on and won it. They noticably took the foot off the pedal at 1-1.

Great game to watch, and a fair result.

I'm just not seeing the Swansea result as a fail, missed chance, or any of these labels. The Swans have only conceded 4...yes FOUR! goals at home all season, only matched by Man City and their 100% home record.

Bollox to 'game we should have won'...we didn't lose!
