... in fact gave us the perspective we need on how far we need to improve if we are to survive in the Prem. We showed Chelsea far too much respect and quite often our last ball was pure hope for something to break our way I'd single out Danns as the only one of ours not looking out of place in that company but others were exposed
Wellens, Dyer and Gallagher was so far off the pace. Danns was superb We played too high of a line it cost us dearly We had a very good go in the final 25 mins and a great strike by Ben Marshall
Kasper's worst display in a city shirt. But that won't stop the Leeds fans, will it? Our defence was shocking. St Ledger and Bamba were all over the shop.
Agree. Danns was head and shoulders above every City player today. St Ledger had a mare, but he WAS playing out of position. Bamba looked out of his depth!!! Tunchev please
Schmeichel should have come for the corner on the first goal St Ledger was always going to be exposed at full-back - NP probably wishes he has played Pelts from the start But defene starts from the front and Beckford particularly needs to start working defenders more Gallagher was shocking - took 3 corners and 2 were cleared by the frst defenders feet! Beckford has no first touch A great opportunity wasted IMHO
Agreed. I think Pearson should take the blame for this. There was absolutely no organisation in the squad. We'll have to be better to beat Blackpool in the week.
Listen, he doesn't play for you anymore. You've got Lonny Donergan so bang on about him instead of someone who's nowt to do with you anymore (whistle>
LCFC have got more prospects than diiiiiirty Leeeeeeds & we will improve for next season & your tut puddings won´t even be a threat. Well done CFC, you got the job done.
A while back Proud asked me a serious question, as a neutral would I rather have Schmeichel or Lonergan. At the time, I didn't answer, as I didn't feel qualified to do so. Having just played Leeds(where Lonergan was MotM) and having just watched Leicester(where Schmeichel was a bit crap), I'm afraid I'd have to go with Lonergan.
So you're basing it on one game where Lonergan came up against McLean and when we played players like Mata, Torres and Sturridge? Good idea
No, I'm just basing it on a game where Schmeichel looked completely out of his depth. I think he's a good keeper, but he doesn't look ready for the Premier League yet, whereas I think Lonergan does. It's only my opinion. And for the record, Lonergan was up against Fryatt, not Mclean.
Thought the foxes did ok and where unlucky not to get a couple more goals ... NP will change things and make you far harder to score against once he get the chance to bring his players in over the summer . Just need to stay with him and be patient Hull City to thrash you of course
Even worse! Besides, I know full well that Schmeichel has played exceptionally well this season. You don't attract Spurs scouts to your games by playing badly
We gave our all and put on a decent show at times. Chelsea was miles too good for us. Kasper had 1 bad game that's it. I think Matt Mills may come back in now
Neither of Morgan, Bamba or St. Ledger had a good game, Mills was on the bench the other night do I think he may come in either starting or on the bench The Chelsea stewards are ****ing useless. Didn't have a ****ing clue neither did the police
It's taken, eight months, but for the first time, you're right, Kasper could have done better and as AKCJ said, by far his worst performance. But personally I'm delighted! It will hopefully stop the Prem teams looking at him because he's been excellent all season, arguably player of the season and certainly our most consistent player. Take Danns as evidence of this. Superb today, and yet disappointing so often this season. Thought Gallagher was light-weight today, and Dyer struggled, but not really surprised - I have doubts about their ability in the Championship, never mind against a top 5 side! I thought Wellens and Beckford did OK, Nugent improved in the second half and what a wonder goal from Marshall. But the less said about the defence the better - another story of our season, particularly away from home.
