Stoke, I know they are awful but our 11 looks composed & solid. No over elaborating players on the pitch but just the hard working bunch. I will take hardwork everytime over flair. 2 up with Drinky scoring scorcher. Don't remember Cescy doing that either. Hazard dropped is good too, long over due.
Yup, we won because Cesc was dropped, despite all the games we win with Cesc IN the team. Hazard didn't play either, guess he is **** too.....we should sell them both. Your shtick is becoming ****ing tiresome Stan, seriously.
you can count the number of wins we had over last 2 years when Cescy started in one hand!! No Cescy Yes Party is proven History.. Eden looked tired and I wanted the break for him & oh yeah .
Really...because from my count Cescady Wescady has started 11 league games that ended in Chelsea victory this season alone..... Perhaps you have 11 fingers on one hand....inbreeding would explain alot.
I just exaggerated a tad little bit, but no way we have won 11 games when Cescy has started. that doesn't give you to stoop that low. Stay classy eh ?? FFS!!
Easy win against a team in serious trouble. Not much to say really, thought Drinkwater looked exceptionally good, if that continues he could be better for us than I gave him credit for. On the other hand, Morata missing too many chances, something not quite right there. Only other negative is that Cahill is not the answer as CB, too slow to see potential openings. He's more solid at left back, but doesn't contribute to Alonsos' game there. Been a great club man, but close to being a regular sub now. Didn't mean to sound negative after a win like that, only meant as mild criticism. Next game will be interesting.
Criticism is warranted, we have not exactly been great this season. But the arbitrary singling out of one player from Stan is getting tiresome. It would be getting tiresome even if he was actually correct in his criticism, but the fact that he is completely wrong is even more frustrating. Cesc has put in some great performances this season, yes, he had a bit part last season, but even then he played an important part. We all know what his limitations are, we have talked about them endlessly, but Stan takes it too far.
went to the match today in the corporate seating. Great game by the boys and Rudiger is brilliant on the ball. I hope he is the LCB for good as he has so much that is good with him. As much as i dislike Moses end product, boy does he run around a lot and get into great positions. Same with Alonso and the number of times both were free if only the ball was switched to them. It was a great game played by us with the most worrying thing being Moratas finishing from a number of chances. As usual i will sing Pedros praises, he offers so many great 1 touch passes although truth be told he wasted a few decent opportunities (something i've seen with him) but offers so much intelligent movement and even defensive work followed by his stunning goal. I actually thought Cahill was fairly solid (minus the 1 time berahino got in behind) and if he played, middle of the back 3 is the spot for him
Interesting review, I only saw it on live TV. Moses was pretty lively and looks much better than his first couple of outings since injury. Know what you mean though about him and Alonso. Without Luiz or an attacking back rower they run into so many good places only to see the ball go somewhere else. Christensen is learning so quickly I hope that an upgrade in his attack will be the next phase of his excellent developement. Rudiger is the kind of player i like too, lots of go forward and a good deal of skill. Things are looking up.
Yea alonso was free a lot in our transitions as diouf was lazy to track back but we never hit him on the counters which allowed diouf to stroll back. Not sure you can blame christensen as he wasnt playing haha. Pedro had some great touches and it was great to see our passing football. In all fairness though stoke didnt really harass us much and just allowed us to stroke it about. Willian had a great game although in general he annoys me as he tries too much imo
https://www.premierleague.com/players/2417/player/overview Cescy had better return last season when he had 13 starts and 16 sub appearances all season. He scored 5 goals. This season he has 14 starts (already !!) and 4 sub appearances, he has 1 goal. Impact sub = Luxury Player = Cescy!! No wonder we are already 13 points behind City. not sure about how many we won when Cescy started this season, but we have lost 4 league games. All 4 matches (Burnley, City, Palace & Spammers) had Cescy in it from KO!! All those 4 matches we could have salvaged 3 pts if we had played with 11 from KO!! That was on Tony and not on Cescy. Looks like Tony has referred to history and he is ready to mend the ways. If we can keep 2nd spot that will be immense.
If we finish 2nd, having played 10 men in every game all season, as you contend, it will be the greatest achievement in sporting history. Either that or you're a gimp.....
When Stoke were 3-0 down I remember the Stoke supporters singing that Tom Jones song and the line “she stood there laughing”.......then she got shot. I felt a bit sorry for their manager Mark Hughes - he was a good player for us.
Mark is a good man and a proud Welsh boy, great player who played with his heart and a great professional and role model to hundreds of thousands of people. His goal away against Arsenal when we lost 2-1 encapsulated his desire. Sorry to say his managerial qualities do not match his playing prowess but I think he still has the wherewithal to be a successful manager but at a lower level.
What I don’t understand is why the English Northerners that are Stoke sing the song by the Welshman that is Tom Jones. I thought Stoke were singing that Delilah got shot, seems she was stabbed to death according to the lyrics....... She stood there laughing I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more My, my, my Delilah Why, why, why Delilah Writing of Arsenal, let’s hope we drub them in all the upcoming games as a tribute to Mark Hughes whose away goal for us was not enough to beat them.
......this time we drub Arsenal both home and away in the Cup. After losing the FA Cup final to them, the Charity Shield and then being subjected to the boring boring Arsenal 0-0 in the league, I’d love to see Arsenal drubbed like in the 6-0 at Stamford Bridge a few years ago.
Can’t agree more my friend, they are due a drubbing and now with the team playing well and key players rested I think you have a perfect case M lud.
