Anyone know why Ferrie was missing from the game? Nce to see Alan Tate step up his progress from injury but i am confused as to why Bodde isnt getting at least 30-40 mins in a practice match. Rodgers stated that next season will be the time fo0r him and i agree with that but surely getting a few minutes here and there will help alot if only to get the feel of playing in a team again.

Seems a bit weird to me, any thoughts ?

yes boddie did not perform at hereford and is not ready for a comeback, fans said this last time that he was rubbish at hereford and cant see him ever getting to league two standard let alone premiership standard, we will never see bodde in a premiership shirt im afraid. thats a big shame but thats life, what we never had we cant miss anyway.....

Sort of contradicts what I heard on Sunday. Heard he was pinging stunning 30/40 yard balls......

Bit of a strange one he didn't feature at all today!!

Why knacker him out with a reserve game when he is on the bench for the Sunderland game ;) Superman he is!! Pinging a ball 40 yards after 3 years out is like riding a bike for him

I don't understand why any "swans fan" would constantly knock the idea of Bodde returning? How can anyone outside of the club seem to know so much about a player who has barely been seen for almost 3 years?!? Yes it may be a very long time to be out, but if Brendan says he making good progress, then there is no reason bot to believe him! I know I am desperate to see The evil genius back playing competitively! And I think that goes for 99.9% of swans fans!

There is what we might all wish for and then there is reality.

Reality is there is an abundance of midfield players in the squad who are not playing regularly in the first team, who are 100% healthy, are able to play a full 90 minutes should we need them, and need to be kept as ready as possible to step up in case of injury. Bodde, after a three year absence, is at the bottom of the list of players who should be getting game time right now. What happened in the Hereford game, served as an evaluation of his current readiness in terms of physical and mental sharpness and skills, stamina, and other factors that go into determining a players usability and suitability for the squad. I am sure if there were indications that he was ready to compete for a place in the squad he would be playing additional games. Rogers has said repeatedly that there is no pressure on Bodde to return sooner than he is ready.

    Tycoch, great comment mate.

Let's put it this way.....If Buck didn't think Bodde was going to return, he wouldn't be wasting his time. Buck has obviousley seen him play recently, to wish to carry on with his comeback. We cant see behind closed doors, but I think we may see him very soon.

Yes but surely if he is now fit enough to train then the NeXT step is to Get a little bit of game time with no pressure?

You can compare some things to riding a bike but at the same time that bike Will be a bit rusty if not used in 3 yrs.

Seems to me that he is absolutly no where near kicking a ball and his appearence was maybe to send out positive news from the lub, intresting that apparently Morgan and jenkins were at the game, maybe There was another reason why he played ?

Amazing what a week does. Dai, why have you decided he was rubbish against Hereford? Considering, oooooohh.... no fan I know who was there said that, seems a strange comment, unless you were there?

is he selected for the reserves scott???.....i know he was not good as i trust my friends that went to the mach and watched him first hand his game was non existant and when he got the ball he lost it most of the time , he had one good pass that anyone can do.......he is fit now so he should be improving and it shows that he has been out of the game for far to long, if he can stay fit which i doubt then if he wants to play football then he should move to league two or non league as he has no chance of ever playing for us in the premiership.....

Form/fitness/confidence is temporary. Class is permanent. Bodde has enough of that to ensure that he is given every chance to get back.

in the real world yes ivor but we are in fairy land now with boddie......he should be able to play in the reserves by now as he has been back in training for a good while, its like asking red rum if he was alive to run in the national, it wont happen.....

I'm sure there's the odd maybe or probably missing from this quote. It's written as if you know for definite. I agree it's all still up in the air, but nothing is certain yet.

nobody knows for certain but im saying in all probability he has left it to late to play in the premiership with us, we dont need a player that has been out of the game for such a long time anyway, we have players who are fit young and hungry. a washed up player trying to get back is not needed......keep what we have and call it a day, its like flogging a dead horse unable to get anywhere, he should and we should admit defeat and get on with looking after players who will play for the swans, its sounds harsh but thats life, its nobodies fault. he will be remembered as a great league one player that got injured and never reached his full potential.....

I've heard a completely different angle entirely, apparently Bodde showed his class when on the ball, but was clearly carrying a few extra pounds. As anyone would after so long out! So it may be more a case of getting him back match fit while being cautious of his knee, no risks to be taken! So why rush him! As buck says, he has no plans to feature Ferrie this season!

I watched the highlights of the Hereford game, his passing range was there, but he did look like he was carrying a couple of pounds too many.

we are all living in hope with boddie im afraid and like i said in another thread we should give him the opportunity until next seasons pre- season matches and if he is not up to fitness then we must call it a day, it will be 4 years then, even the big clubs wont give half that time...... he and the club must be realistic about this as its costing us thousands of pounds......

What you have to remember with Dai, is he deals in FACTS, but of course these are Dai's facts, which by enlarge don't stand up to scrutiny, I remember when we first went up to the championship, Dai was banging on that Scotland, would never make the step up, "he's too slow and Lazy" Dai kept banging on about it, and if you remember Scotland that pre-season was on international duty for Trinidad, and didn't get much of a pre-season with us, of course, the first half of that season, it Took Jason to adjust, but because he hadn't scored hardly anything, Dai was giving it big, and just wouldn't listen to some of us that he'll make up for it second half of the season, and boy did Scotland make up for it, 24 goals in his first season in the Championship, not only that, but got transfered for 2 Million to Wigan, what happened to Dai, he disappeared for a good week or so! The moral of the story, is Dai hasn't a clue when it comes to players................... <laugh>
