No bids for Toon trio

Newcastle United has not received any bids for big-name players Joey Barton, Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez amid mounting speculation over their futures.

My thoughts are we were paying this lot top dollar on lengthy contracts..............not one of them can hope for better cash............and it is all about the cash.

So get used to them all being there next year along with my favourite "slide tackling sick note " Smithy.........another piece of history on £3million a year............jeez Big Sam can waste cash so long as it's not his.

Better we bring in the type and age of player we have in past year.......

 

Right now, i'd take signing two quality strikers and keeping the players we have now.

 

i'd prefer 1 striker and 1 right winger.

"No bids for toon trio" isnt nearly as reassuring as "toon trio not for sale" though (got my tinfoil hat out for that one)

 

Not sure it's just about the cash .. the only one of the above with anything to lose is Smith .. he's not got a Premiership level season in him anymore .. the real test for him will be whether it's true that Leeds have approached him looking to see if he'll take a wage cut to play for them .. so it's football vs. cash for Smith only ..

The others could easily walk into respectable teams across Europe with decent wages ..

 

To be fair only Barton has said anything about leaving in a twitter rant. Jonas in fact has nothing bar he was shocked by the news he could be sold and thanked the fans for their messages of support, I believe he even waved.
