Seems weird not having to wait for 3 minutes (like on 606) to post a response on this forum. Maybe it should be more like 606 and have that stupid rule.... Then again, maybe not.
I couldn't see the point of that 3 minute rule, plus newbies being in pre-mod for ages and ages.I like this forum better, because we're treated like adults and can swear if we want to and it only gets deleted slightly.
Yeah I know what you mean. It took me about 6 months before I was out of pre-mod. I think this forum is probably better, and it has evolved ove the past 2 months. When I first came on here in Jan it was being spoilt by juvenile Manc knobheads and not being moderated at all. Looks good now though. 606 is closing soon so maybe more people will come across, although there is competition from sport witness and a few others are trying too.
There is moderation and MODERATION.The other 606 I felt was moderated too much. This is better. You don't have to walk on egg shells and most of the time there is decent debate, except when Mancs enter our board which is similar to the other 606.I like the chatbox.
The ironic thing is other forum advertisers have to keep reposting to 606 because threads disappear from the front page so quickly, replaced by the kiddie wums that the critics say are all over this board. I didn't like the format of sportwitness. Nice look but replies indent all the way across a page until you're sideways-scrolling. That's just bad design.
It's because 606 isn't a forum, it's a message board. So means that there are always about a million articles on the same thing with not one of them ever getting more than 10 comments before it gets pushed down the page with more trivial crap getting put above it. There are so many WUMs there too that it's just ridiculous. It's now just a place to voice your opinion without real debate or reply, which is exactly what Twitter was designed for. Incidently a route that the BBC has chosen to now take when accepting contributions for match day live text. As per Sports Witness, the only "advantage" it has is that a few of the more old timers from 606 are there. That's it. The format sucks, there are so few members and there are virtually no fans from other clubs there. Which is a major factor for us all, since if I wanted to debate amongst only LFC fans I'd go with an exclusive forum like RAWK. I just hope more people give Not606 a chance since a month ago all the wums left a sour taste in everyones mouth. Now with mods its really easy to get rid of those comments.
Since the other day we've received a few new posters to our board and a few old posters who signed up and left straight away have returned....
Yep, I was one of those. Think I'm just going to use 606 to wum now until it closes. Never managed to get myself banned so I might set that as a target and spend the rest of my time over there on the mancs board....
I think Aswordmadeofhash did the same thing before he got banned for good! Try and persuade some old 606ers to come over here first before you turn to the dark side of wumming though
There was some decent 606ers on this, but they seemed to disappear like Page Moss Kopite.I had decent discussions with him until I too got banned for upsetting the salfords for poking fun at George Best. Its not my fault he was a pisshead.
Think he's still on 606, sure I read one his posts a couple of days ago. Some moved to Sport Witness (myself included) because of the idiots on here. They are still there but it's not a very busy forum. I reckon once 606 closes things will improve but most peoples impressions of this site are that it's full of wum's unfortunately.
