I couldn't care less who plays for the club, as long as they are good. I would have happily taken Marlon King and Nile Ranger if I were Bristol City manager, and although I'd add a good get-out clause should they **** around while at the club I'd be more than happy to give them games.

I reckon that signing either player would have helped keep us in the Championship. Marlon King was a solid Championship level forward, and Nile Ranger could become the same.

Rather than trying to hold some silly moral high ground, we should realise that when money is involved, a criminal record does very little to you. If Gareth Bale spent the next three years in jail, he'd be snapped up by a top club the second the shackles come off.
