A new name in the hat, but it does come from the Daily Fail... The 23-year-old Croatia international is looking for a way out of Ewood Park after missing a lot of first-team football last season. There have been rumours of a bust-up with management but these have been denied. His representatives have held talks with the club as they seek re-assurances over his future but it is likely he will leave this summer. Blackburn insist they are in no rush to sell and would want to recoup the £6million they shelled out two summers ago. The fear is that although Kalinic has scored just 13 goals in 53 games he could yet develop into a decent Premier League striker. Slaven Bilic rates him highly and Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has been alerted to the fact he is unsettled. Bruce wants two strikers and is looking for players with Premier League experience. Stuttgart's Pavel Pogrebnyak has long been on Bruce's radar and is a possible but again he would prefer someone who knows the league and that makes Kalinic a possible. However, there are others ahead on his list. Blackburn have had no official bids yet' Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ident-Stewart-Downing-deal.html#ixzz1RKi1zhym
I quite like the look of Kalinic, i think a lack of confidence in him when he first signed led to a self-confidence crisis, which means his best has never been seen. They won't be getting ther £6million back mind, £4million and maybe an option.
not for 6 as Brucie says 4 max, but we are being linked every day now, we must have a lot of irons in the fire
I've spent quite a lot of time in my youth looking at Eastern Europeans like.... Doubt they'd have made good strikers like.
I wouldnt be suprised if we signed him. Sam Allerdyce rates him really highly so hes probably spoke to bruce about him.
I definitely think he's got summat about him, whether it comes out is the gamble, but 23 is no age, and Croatians are good footballers, generally. Could be well worth a punt at the right price, he's averaging 1 in 5, that's the same as Pogrebnyak, but in a stronger league.
Allerdyce did say that last season was going too be his year and he would develop into a top class striker but after he got sacked Kalinic was just sitting on the bench I dont know if he was injured or something because when he came on, he seemed to do something and Jason Roberts was poor.
