You seem to have taken a quote, sprinkled a bit of "journalism dust" over it, and turned it into an exciting headline to attract the attention of readers, such as myself.

 

... which it did of course ... but it is Nigel that mentions top ten ...

The difference between 17th place and 10th place really isnt huge in points so it isnt an unrealistic goal for any club in the PL. That said one would think that 10th place would be a goal for next season or the season after as opposed to this season. Which I am sure NP meant.

 

Think the 10th place quote, was instigated by a journalist asking the question 'can you finish top 10?', otherwise it looks quite random for NP - he is far too guarded for that.

I don't think there's anything wrong with us aiming for the top 10, mind... but I don't think anyone will be too disappointed if we finish 12th.

 

My take on it too ... the question could esily have been "Nigel... would you say a top ten finish is out of the question?" .. or something along those lines ...

 

Hope we stay out of this FA Cup nonsense, i'd hate to have our second season hampered by the Europa league ...
