I've just posted that in the other thread. I'm not certain he was keeping his options open - he is always that cagey when it comes to talking about another club, but I think this time he needed to lower his guard somewhat. Saying what progress he was making here is not the same as saying he wants to stay. He's still got a year and a half on his contract though - and I can't see Papa Allam or AP letting him just walk away mid season. He may well fancy the money at the KP stadium, but he's got to look at the stability of the club - if he can't work his magic, he could be unemployed by xmas; He'd have to win fans back over that he's already walked out on, and he's already brought his favourite players to East Yorkshire. I also can't see Leicester paying compensation when there are managers like Jones, Hughes, O'Neill, Curbishley out there waiting to be picked up.
For me i think he would be extremely silly to take the job at Leicester. Here he will be given time even if things don't eventually work out at the end of the season. If he switched to Leicester, only after a few bad results he would find himself under mounting pressure there. For me i would have slept alot better if he put to bed the rumor. I guess we will have to wait and see!!!
Agreed. Burnsy even suggested to him that what he had said might be construed as him keeping his options open and he just went on the defensive talking about doing a good job. Who asked him about that?
It's a typical strategy to strengthen his contract talks with Hull. It happens all the time, rumours will spread and the Allams will offer him an extended contract. He completely weakens his bargaining position by coming out with something like "I love it here at Hull, No way would I be interested in Leicester". As has been said, he'd be pretty silly to go to Leicester as playoffs will still be expected for this season which is a massive ask with their squad. He's also got no media attention here over the job he's doing(something which I feel he likes).
In the Mail that Keegan and Lee Clark are in the frame for the Leicester job. I agree its a bargaining position for NP. May get his salary upped here or if Leicester really did want him who can refuse a salary increase X10.
I could understand that if his contract were up for discussion yet. He's here until June 2013 - I can't see him getting any new contract talks until at least the summer, nor would I think he'd want them if he considered us to be promotion potential - his chances of a better deal after a promotion or even a promotion push would be much higher - Leicester realistically will have their new manager in place by December. He won't be needing a bargaining position with City before then. For the record, I don't think he's going, I doubt AP or the Allams would give him permission to speak to Leicester - but I don't think he handled that question well.
Can't open the link . I'm guessing it's REM but hoping it's The Doors . Someone help me out . No gayness tonight Erik . Not one bit .

Hmm, I also believe he's not going anywhere but it's known that if a club leaves a contract to 12 months then it's their own fault if they lose the player. So I'd assume it was the same for the manager due to compensation fees being naff all by that point. I'd say Nigel is due for contract talks at any point. I think he will be offered a new deal soon as it's the perfect boost for the club to push on as they know the manager will be sticking around for the future (It would also help with contract talks for existing players/new players). We'll see though, but i'm willing to wager that he'll have extended his contract by 2012.
We are all the products of our own experience. Nigel Pearson is no different. He has enough history of the disloyalty of football to know he is better off keeping schtum in the media about what his intentions are. Suffice to say he is an intensely dignified man who always does things the right way.
Percy/TwF/Whatever his most recent name is seems to have been quiet recently with Nige and the boys doing so well. Shame that his idol has hit a bit of a rough patch with Preston as well... (Not that I don't want him to do well).
