http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/leicestercity So it seems that it will be Big Nige back tomorrow? What are our thoughts? Expectations for this season? What about the current players? Will waggy come back? will Fryatt come back!
Welcome back Nigel He wasn't my first choice but we could have done a lot worse. I'm not disappointed. My expectation is that we finish in the play-offs and see an improvement in performances. I expect us to become more of a unit and I expect us to play with more purpose. Too often this season we've had loads of possession but no clue what to do with it, yesterday was the same. We need to start playing a s team and we need to play at a higher tempo. I expect team spirit to improve and I don't expect anyone not trying to last long. Nigel will get us playing to our strengths and will build us into a good footballing side in stages. Emphasis will be on organisation and an understanding amongst everyone, as well as 100% effort. I think Waggy will be recalled actually, but I don't think Hobbs or Fryatt will come back. Nigel really only needs to recall Tunchev and then strengthen with wingers. At the moment I don't think we really need any other kind of player. The best thing about this news is that we've been sorely lacking the positive feeling around Filbert way ever since he left. It's hard to explain the atmosphere when Nigel was in charge before, but every City fan will know what I'm talking about.
Listening to Radio Leicester earlier and caught a little bit of some comments about your board being 'hands on' and pushing their own lads through the academy. They also mentioned something about using the manager to help push the media side of things to promote the club back home. Obviously I've only heard a tiny snippet and if your local radio's as ****e as ours it could well be nonsense, but is there any basis to it and if so, how do you think Nige will handle it?
StringerSportIan Stringer Expect some sort of announcement from Hull in the morning with something from #lcfc later. Press conference Weds/Thurs. Welcome back Nigel Stringer says
At PNE. They have one point from a possible 24 and have conceded 34 goals in 16 games. They havn't won in the league since the 9th of September (although they did beat Charlton to be fair)
I think NP will be back for James Chester and Liam Rosenior, two players you lot seem to think are not as good as your current players. They are much better as you'll appreciate when NP signs them for you. £5m for Rosenior and £4 for Chester.
If we're offering 5m then we'll have Naughton. Someone miles better than Rosey As for Chester, why would we pay 4m for a 5th choice CB?
Well he hasn't played against Bamba yet has he? I've seen Chester play a few times and I don't rate him that highly. I think Mills/Tunch/Bamba are all better
I know what Emilio means about the whole vibe around the club during the period he was here. You could just feel that we were a club on the up and were going places and it was a stupid decision to let him go and a complete waste of a season. That said, last season, if we were struggling and having a bad run of form, maybe the Thai's would have sacked him and got Sven instead. So maybe this break that the two parties have had from one another may turn out to be the best outcome? But there is enough quality in this squad, with a few minor adjustments, to be challenging come the end of the season. Bamba is an interesting one because whilst he does believe in his ability and play on the edge at times, nobody can doubt he has all the facets of a top quality centre-half so, with Nigel being an ex CB, I'd hope he would work with Bamba to maybe get him to play the percentages more because that is what I feel Nige will want him to do because if we do discard him because of his flamboyancy, then we're chucking away a very good defender. I don't think it's a bad thing to have a defender who can play out from the back, as long as he knows when to do it.
Mate - known him since I was 4, he trains greyhounds and he has a few top peoples in there including footballer.
