I think we have known for years that the bogey man down in the dark halls of Ashton Gate is indeed who you think, and I will not mention the name as we all know that as well. Some of the major decisions made by our management beggars belief and I am of the opinion that the most recent is something I have great difficulty in truly understanding. Nigel had been on the radar for some time due to poor results and performances and I would have thought that the axe was in the right hand and ready to use but they held their breath to see if some decent results would come up for air when we were on the field. Perhaps they were unable to meet the obvious demands that Nigel would be wanting in the transfer window due to the lack of motivation in a lot of the current players, but when you think how many times have we ripped the heart out of the squad and expected better success with less than less? Rebuilding a better team off of scraps and wannabees will rarely, if ever, work unless you have a footballing genius at the helm and just in case you hadn't noticed - we don't have that essential ingredient and probably will never fork out the dosh to get one. Success is built on desire and common sense and both are sadly lacking at Bristol City. P.S. Best of luck to you and your family Nigel. 
DIDNT seem to be in a hurry, I wonder if his plan was to consolidate the team in Championship for this season .. finishing closer to rather than in top 6! probably knowing that in prem unless bought a whole new team ... maybe 8 or 9 players! .. we would come straight back down.

To have any chance, even if we could get promoted of staying up the club needs to be set up and run well, atm we plainly aren’t. Imo Nige was trying to sort that out and build from the bottom up. My concern from the time he took over was the short term, long term I’ve no doubt given time he’d succeed, he’d managed to negotiate the short term and was ready to move into the next stage when the rug was pulled, now all the build up he’d done in the last couple of years has been wasted, to start the cycle all over again.
I follow City and always will, but at present I’ve really lost any excitement I had, I watch from afar, and will go to the occasional game, but other than wanting them not to get relegated I’m not bothered.

Yep, for the first time I thought we’d bucked the trend and appointed a manager capable of changing all that, as I said in my mind the short term was the issue with Nige, long term is his strength.
Thats all water under the bridge now. I was annoyed, I’ve come to terms with it and I obviously still want my team to do well, win games and be successful, but I don’t feel as engaged with the club as I did. The NP episode just highlighted how lightweight we are at boardroom level and until that changes we’ve got no chance of progression.
Agree the light at the end of the tunnel was showing and the Lansdowns backtracked on three years of sorting the **** show out.
