Nigel Pearson has been installed as favourite for the vacant Reading job. If he takes it will he take Messrs Shakespeare and Walsh with him
Shakespeare maybe as they are mates and we have 3 assistant managers. Walsh no as he has more money and power then he ever will have at Reading - he was the main one that pushed for Raneiri to be our boss when everyone else wrote him off which shows how highly he is regarded here. Can't see anyone else leaving either as Raneiri hasn't brought in lots of Italian coaches as some believed he would do and has stuck with the same staff.
What job do you have? It is against the law to prevent an employee from leaving their job if they choose to leave - most require that you give a notice period which allows the company to find a replacement for you.
There under contract so its not so simple as if they want to leave they can We should try our hardest to keep them but if they want to go then we should let them I think Reading would be a great move for Nigel Pearson
I suppose it depends really, if Shakey and Walsh are happy here, then i don't see why they would leave, no doubt we'd be paying out a fair bit more for their service than Reading would. I don't mind if they do go though, as it was Pearson that got them here in the first place and sticks with them. It will definitely test their loyalty to Pearson and it will be interesting to see if they would go after the debacle over the summer.
Teacher. I could leave but not till February I believe. But I don't don't if you are given a 3 year contract and sign to say 'yes I'll be here for 3 years' if you can just leave - I think you can't legally can you? Just interested more than anything
Did a quick search and for teachers you have stricter rules - apologies as I though it was all the same. That's not to say you are stuck in the job you have - just that you can't formally resign in the middle of term. https://www.atl.org.uk/help-and-advice/other-issues/notice-periods.asp You could of course go up to the headmaster and tell them to go **** themselves - I bet you can be released from your contract on that very day
Haha I don't actually want to leave just didn't know how the systems went in other jobs. However, when you pen a 3 year contract you can't break that can you? As your signifies I believes comits you to that
The situation you are referring to is a fixed term contract and you can break that if you choose - the info you want is here https://www.gov.uk/fixed-term-contracts/renewing-or-ending-a-fixedterm-contract Every contract has to have a leaving clause by law - otherwise you would be in indentured servitude which is akin to slavery.
See if you can take your class on a tour of the KP Stadium for a day trip - get them on our side while things are good
