http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8575339/ .. sword of Damacles hovering by the look of it ... should have avoided speculation on 'not reaching play-offs' in my view
"I would hope I will be in a job if Leicester don't reach the play-offs"? Surely the question is will he even make it until the end of the season? Maybe he's been given assurances that he will and this is his hint...
The thing going for Nigel is he has about 80% of the fans fully behind him. Apart from some corners of the media there is no one putting pressure on the owners to change manager.
I think the majority of us on here are behind him. I am 100% behind him but I fear he might have ran out of time with the owners already
Think your right, nigel has 80% of the fans behind him.. but Im sure he will shake them off at the airport..
To be fair, I don't think thats 'news' as such. I'm fairly sure that interview was conducted before the Derby game. They'll just continue to rip quotes from it until he either turns our form around or gets sacked. Classic case of "under fire manager says he's safe". You see it so often now.
Personally I didn't want him back when he came from Hull - and posted that at the time - he didn't convince me during his first tenure that he would be able to manage at the next level and he hasn't really convinced me otherwise (his tactical changes when we are struggling never really seem to make much difference - call it lack of a plan B) - but I'm also against sacking him at this point (but then I was against sacking Sousa and Sven too) primarily because I'm worried that it will just make the current malaise worse (although certain individuals not in the team currently might, perhaps, just step up their game to impress a new guy ?)- that nigel might have the support of a majority of the fans is largely irrelevant - pleasing for him I'm sure, but irrelevant - so did Roberto Di Matteo, Nigel Adkins and Brian McDermott ...,
