Am not surprised TBH but is a bit disconcerting. http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/L...on-Liverpool/story-26757945-detail/story.html
... actually it's not that surprising ... and before I start getting bombarded with threats of legal writs by Proud ... let me explain why ... 1) We survived last season - but contrary to some populist rhetoric it was by no means 'comfortable' - at least as far as I was concerned - it was purgatorial followed by elation - but I doubt we, or any other team for that matter, could / will replicate extraditing themselves from that sort of position any time soon... 2) Second season syndrome - whilst I don't entirely buy this as a concept; we will, without doubt, be a more familiar animal to established Prem teams this time around e.g - expect van Gaal to approach the game at ours differently to his last visit 3) 'Sackgate' - was he or wasn't he? - who knows - but there certainly was some discontent in the Board Room ... 4) The "Weird" one - Nigel's approach to dealing with the media, his own fans and opposition players is unlikely to be in any FA 'Best Practice' manual ... All of the above can be safely ignored if we continue from where we left off ...
They are the reasons for the bookies choices of course Fosse. Btw I think it's a joke subject for them to put bets on anyway so anything can happen like Pulis walking out on Palace (or is this purely sackings)? The other way to view it is that Pearson certainly seems unsackable. After being 7 points adrift in March and not sacking him, it'd take something awful for him to go. I don't see the owners pulling the trigger before someone else's
One thing for sure - after the 'great escape', if he were to be sacked he would be snapped up elsewhere. Especially the way the club has developed under his management - training facilities, academy, sports science etc. Personally feel that he is one of the safest, after Mourinho and Wenger. If he was going to get the bullet it would have been when we were well adrift at the foot of the table. I may be wrong but have the feeling that he may leave for another club before we even think about sacking him. Depends how big a project he sees us.
After this behaviour from Nigel its clear to see why. Sounds like he is terrorising Forest fans http://m.thestar.co.uk/news/local/giant-bird-still-on-the-loose-in-notts-1-7325517
What like you said last year? And the year before that? And that year before that? And the year before that aswell?
Well it´s simple. 1. He now knows what it takes to play in the prem. 2. He knows he needs to improve all round, particularly in DEF. 3. He knows if he doesn´t perform he´ll be out. 4. & he´ll be expecting it.
I reckon one of the big boys could sack a manager early, Rodgers and Pellegrini certainly underachieved last season and if they continue that into the start of next then they're in trouble. Watford are also on a right managerial merry-go-round too. Let's not forget that Pearson is actually one of the longest serving mangers of any PL clubs (I can't remember exactly, but hasn't only Wenger been at Arsenal longer than Pearson at City?). Expectations are still not going to be high for next season, although with better players we may be able to attract a higher calibre of manager if the team is underperforming. I'd want him to stay, regardless of all this!
I really think the owners will be hoping for mid table thoughout the season, any thing better will be a bonus. So having said that, NP needs to keep away from that bottm 3 or even 5.
I dont think he'll be first, hopefully we can carry on from where we left off though so theres no sacking neccessary. Howe will have the safest job regardless, i'd put money on him not being sacked, even if they prop the table up from the start.
